The Scrum Master II facilitates agile practices, helps teams self-organize, coaches teams, and collaborates with stakeholders to ensure project success.
What you will be doing
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Possesses a solid understanding of how agile and waterfall frameworks work to deliver business value and how various practices can and should evolve.
2. Cultivates customer focus as the team collaborates to deliver solutions achieving the desired business outcome.
3. Helps teams self-organize and self-manage using collaborative engagement techniques.
4. Acts as a coach who works within the team to maximize the value created.
5. Responsible for the planning and facilitation of standard meetings to include; backlog preparation, iteration planning, retrospectives, iteration reviews and daily stand-ups.
6. Facilitates the sizing of stories during the planning sprint, backlog grooming, or sprint planning sessions for the team.
7. Utilizes the team "definition of done" to guide the team during their sprint commitments.
8. Leverages defined metrics to enable continuous delivery, provide transparency and to optimize the value of iterative and incremental development.
9. Effectively facilitates retrospectives to pull actionable changes for the team.
10. Works with the product owner and stakeholders to determine staffing requirements.
11. Removes impediments, and makes issues and problems visible. Escalates as necessary.
What your background should look like
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:• Minimum of 3-7 years of Scrum Master experience• Certified ScrumMaster (CSM or related certification strongly preferred)• SAFe Agile experience recommended• 3+ years of information technology experience• Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Information Systems or Engineering; or equivalent work experience
MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
1. Competent Level Understanding of:
o Agile and waterfall methodologies, values, and procedures
o Technically complex projects
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
o Relevant business software (e.g. Microsoft Office applications, Clarity, MS Project, Team Foundation Server, Jira)
2. Possesses the ability to balance a willingness to engage with ideas different from their own, encouragement of others to express divergent perspectives, the capability to influence, conflict management, and teamwork.
3. Highly adaptable to changing environment.
4. Situational awareness of when to listen and when to be assertive.
