Job Summary

Next Generation, Inc., an HR Path Company, is seeking an experienced SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP) Consultant to join our growing payroll consulting practice. This role is responsible for supporting the design, configuration, implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP) solutions for clients across various industries.The ideal candidate possesses strong SAP payroll expertise, hands-on configuration experience, and a solid understanding of payroll processes and compliance requirements. Working closely with project managers, solution architects, payroll professionals, and client stakeholders, this individual will help deliver high-quality payroll technology solutions that improve payroll efficiency, compliance, and user experience.This position is best suited for a payroll technology professional with consulting experience who enjoys solving complex business challenges through SAP SuccessFactors Payroll solutions. While payroll process knowledge is important, the primary focus of this role is SAP ECP consulting, solution delivery, system configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and client support.This is a fully remote position.Job 


Job Responsibilities

SAP Payroll Consulting

  • Participate in SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP) implementation, enhancement, and support engagements.
  • Analyze client business requirements and translate them into payroll system solutions.
  • Configure and support SAP ECP functionality based on client requirements and best practices.
  • Assist in solution design workshops, requirement gathering sessions, and business process reviews.
  • Document functional specifications, configuration workbooks, solution designs, and testing results.
  • Provide recommendations for payroll process improvements and system optimization.

Payroll Solution Delivery

  • Configure payroll-related components including wage types, rules, payroll calculations, schemas, and payroll processing elements.
  • Support payroll testing activities including unit testing, integration testing, parallel testing, and user acceptance testing.
  • Troubleshoot payroll calculation issues, configuration defects, and system-related payroll errors.
  • Support payroll data validation, reconciliation, and reporting activities.
  • Participate in system deployments and post-production support activities.
  • Ensure payroll solutions meet business requirements and compliance standards.

Client Support & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Collaborate with client payroll, HR, Finance, and IT teams throughout project lifecycles.
  • Provide functional guidance and support regarding payroll system capabilities and best practices.
  • Assist with issue resolution and support escalations related to SAP payroll functionality.
  • Conduct client knowledge transfer sessions and end-user training when required.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication and professional service delivery.

Payroll Integrations & Technology

  • Support integrations between Employee Central Payroll and related SAP SuccessFactors modules.
  • Assist with payroll interfaces involving Benefits, Time Management, General Ledger, banking, tax providers, and third-party applications.
  • Participate in integration testing and troubleshooting activities.
  • Support data conversion, payroll migration, and payroll transformation initiatives.
  • Ensure payroll system configuration aligns with organizational business processes.

Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain awareness of payroll regulations and their impact on payroll system design.
  • Assist in evaluating compliance-related payroll requirements and supporting configuration changes.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements using SAP capabilities.
  • Stay current on SAP SuccessFactors Payroll releases, innovations, and best practices.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and practice development initiatives.

Job QualificationsRequired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with SAP Payroll or SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP).
  • Experience supporting payroll system implementations, enhancements, or ongoing managed services engagements.
  • Practical experience with payroll configuration, payroll processing, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of payroll concepts including taxes, deductions, retroactive processing, off-cycle payrolls, and payroll compliance requirements.
  • Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into functional solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing consulting skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced consulting environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP) Certification.
  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Certification.
  • Experience working in a consulting, professional services, or systems integrator environment.
  • Experience supporting U.S. payroll and multi-state payroll requirements.
  • Experience with payroll integrations and interface design.
  • Knowledge of SAP Employee Central, Time Management, Compensation, and related SuccessFactors modules.
  • Experience supporting multi-country payroll environments.
  • Experience participating in payroll migrations or payroll transformation projects.
  • Familiarity with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and integration technologies.
  • Experience supporting managed payroll services organizations.
