POSITION SUMMARY:

The SAP Project Coordinator plays a critical role in identifying and resolving workflow disruptions tied to SAP or other system-related issues. Through daily Gemba check-ins, documentation, and cross-functional coordination, this role ensures operational continuity and accurate knowledge capture. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and thrives in a dynamic production environment.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Conduct daily Gemba walks with Production, Planning, and Shipping/Receiving to log SAP-related challenges with real-time screenshots or photos.
  • Document exact user interactions (clicks, fields, workarounds) during SAP issues using process mapping tools.
  • Translate user feedback into structured problem statements and root cause hypotheses using 5W1H templates.
  • Create SAP tickets in the Incident Tracker with full evidence and assign to appropriate owners, ensuring no rework due to missing details.
  • Lead daily and weekly SAP governance meetings; maintain and distribute a "stoplight" deck to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Partner with end users to validate system fixes and confirm issue resolution through documented pass/fail testing.
  • Maintain updated SOPs, quick-reference guides, or video tutorials reflecting all approved workarounds or process changes, and store them in SharePoint or Teams.
  • Other duties assigned

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, or related field preferred
  • Continuous Improvement, ERP, or Lean Six Sigma training/certification preferred

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years in a manufacturing, logistics, or operations support role
  • Hands-on experience with SAP or a similar ERP system required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Experience with documentation and process mapping tools (e.g., Visio, Miro, Lucid-chart) preferred
  • Exposure to system stabilization, Hypercare, or ticket management systems a plus

MANAGEMENT/SUPERVISION:

  • This position does not include direct supervision responsibilities
  • Must demonstrate the ability to lead discussions, manage follow-ups, and coordinate cross-functional issue resolution

Compensation:

  • $25-30 per hour

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to walk the manufacturing floor multiple times per day (Gemba walks)
  • May require standing, kneeling, or occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs for documentation purposes
  • Ability to work on a computer and mobile device for extended periods

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Primarily on-site in a manufacturing and warehouse environment
  • Frequent exposure to industrial noise, moving equipment, and operational areas
  • Regular interaction with cross-functional teams including production, planning, logistics, and IT

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
