Effectual Salesforce Solutions Architects are members of the Public Sector Program Management team responsible for ensuring that customer-facing projects are delivered with exceptional customer satisfaction and technical excellence. Effectual Salesforce Solutions Architects are “Brand Ambassadors” and are expected to stay current on leading practices to deliver high-quality, well-conceived solutions to customers. This role requires deep platform expertise, architectural oversight, and a track record of leading technical delivery across complex federal programs on a new 5-year contract. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to transition from hands-on development to strategic system design while maintaining operational and technical depth.
A Glimpse into the Daily Routine of a Salesforce Solutions ArchitectWe are looking for a highly skilled Salesforce Solutions Architect to join our team and lead the design and implementation of Salesforce-based solutions for our public sector clients. The Salesforce Solutions Architect reviews architectural decisions, platform issues, and in-flight delivery risks. Participates in technical reviews, sprint planning, and DevOps readiness sessions. Engages with developers and stakeholders to validate designs, approve patterns, and guide implementation. Maintains oversight of configurations, integrations, and deployment pipelines. Leads documentation of architecture decisions, compliance impacts, and change management. Monitors backlog priorities and technical debt while aligning system evolution to enterprise and security requirements. Works collaboratively with internal teams, external partners, and cloud service providers, including Salesforce and AWS, to deliver secure, compliant, and innovative solutions. Provide technical leadership in designing data models, reviewing system architecture, or ensuring compliance with security standards, which is critical to project success. Provide strategic guidance on best practices, review and approve technical designs, and ensures solutions align with mission objectives. Mentoring junior team members, document architectural decisions, or contribute to future project roadmaps and proposals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities· Design and document scalable, secure, and reusable Salesforce architecture aligned with public sector standards and compliance controls
· Guide teams on Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, and system integrations
· Review and approve user stories, technical designs, and change requests for completeness, feasibility, and adherence to architecture standards
· Develop and maintain critical configurations including custom objects, Flows, validation rules, and process automation for high-value business processes
· Perform code reviews, enforce best practices, and ensure system components are version-controlled and aligned with DevOps pipelines
· Collaborate with stakeholders to refine system requirements and translate them into technical strategies with appropriate delivery sequencing
· Oversee sandbox strategy and environment governance for dev, test, and release environment
· Support maintenance activities including roles, permissions, user setup, and metadata backups
· Contribute to documentation: architecture diagrams, security models, and release planning artifacts
Qualifications· Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in related discipline AND
· Minimum Experience: 10 years including cloud professional certification OR
· Substitution/Alternative to Minimum Education and Experience: Must have at least 10 years of on-the-job experience
· Must be a US Citizen
· 10+ years of Salesforce platform experience with demonstrated progression from engineer/developer to architect
· Deep technical knowledge of the Salesforce platform, combined with the ability to understand government-specific needs and compliance requirements
· Salesforce Application Architect, Salesforce B2B Solution Architect, Salesforce Platform Developer, Salesforce Platform App Builder, and/or AWS Certified Developer Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect and/or other relevant Salesforce and/or cloud certifications
· Proven history supporting public sector or federal government projects with compliance-heavy requirements
· Strong hands-on experience with Apex, SOQL, Lightning Web Components, and Flow orchestration
· Solid understanding of system integration patterns, REST/SOAP APIs, and identity/access management models in Salesforce
· Proven experience managing Salesforce and cloud integration projects with a focus on solution engineering, data security, and compliance
· Strong understanding of cloud architecture and experience working with AWS in a solution engineering capacity
· Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
· Continuous learning mindset, keeping up to date with industry trends and best practices
· Ability to work Eastern Standard Time Zone schedule
Nice-to-Have Skills and Experience· Active Clearance or Public Trust (DOJ Preferred)
· Salesforce certifications including Salesforce Application Architect, System Architect, or Salesforce DevOps Center or Copado Certification
· Experience implementing DevOps practices using tools such as Copado, Gearset, or Salesforce DevOps Center
· Knowledge of Git-based version control, scratch org strategy, and metadata deployments
· Prior experience developing deployment automation scripts and integrating Salesforce with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps
· Familiarity with Salesforce Government Cloud and FedRAMP environments
· Exposure to federal compliance frameworks such as FISMA, NIST 800-53, and ATO processes
· Ability to troubleshoot performance issues across custom code, integrations, and automation
