The Salesforce Developer manages administrative tasks and technical development within Salesforce, optimizing configurations, developing custom code, and ensuring system integrity and scalability.
About the Role
The Salesforce Developer is responsible for both advanced administrative configuration and technical development within Salesforce across all company channels. This role balances day-to-day administration with the ability to design and implement advanced solutions that go beyond declarative method.
This individual manages individual projects and also contributes as a key member of Salesforce deployment teams. They actively promote system health, security, and data integrity by identifying potential issues, troubleshooting errors, and implementing sustainable fixes.
The role requires the ability to perform deep analysis of system logs, diagnose process inefficiencies, and recommend or execute improvements. The ideal candidate has proven experience in Salesforce architecture, data management, APEX development, and platform best practices, as well as supporting DataOps processes. This person supports both simple and complex deployments, assists administrators with advanced projects, and ensures that Salesforce remains scalable and aligned with business needs.
What You’ll Do
- Perform Salesforce administration and configuration, including flows, custom objects, third-party integrations, permission sets, and security best practices.
- Experience in implementing and maintaining a strong Slack ↔ Salesforce integration.
- Develop and maintain custom code using APEX, REST APIs, scheduled jobs, and metadata configurations.
- Build and maintain Lightning Web Components (LWC) and Aura components for both Public Digital Experiences and internal Lightning Experience (LEX) users.
- Troubleshoot and optimize inefficient configurations, proactively reducing technical debt and improving scalability.
- Partner with Engineering to enhance existing API integrations and assist in building new integrations that ensure seamless and scalable Salesforce ↔ Houzz connectivity.
- Support Salesforce Administrators by providing expertise on projects requiring custom logic or advanced automation.
At a Minimum, We’d Like You to Have
- 3+ years of hands-on Salesforce experience, with at least 1 year in a developer capacity.
- Current Salesforce certification(s) (Platform Developer I or higher required).
- Experience with Salesforce REST API, custom REST Endpoints, Bulk API, and high-volume API integrations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects end-to-end, delivering scalable andsustainable solutions.
- Strong communication skills with experience partnering across Sales, Marketing, Customer Support, Legal, and Executive stakeholders.
Ideally, You'll Also Have
- Experience with high data volume handling using asynchronous methods.
- Proven success optimizing and maintaining Salesforce orgs with over 5 years of accumulated data and processes.
- At least one Salesforce Data Architecture certification.
Compensation, Benefits and Perks
This role has an annual starting salary range of $90,000 - $120,000. In addition to salary, you’re eligible for competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Houzz. Also, depending on the role, you could be eligible for an equity award. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors, including, but not limited to, skills, experience, and specific work location.
