The Role:

The Head of Merchant Sales will be responsible for leading a revenue team to develop and manage strategic vendor partnerships and explore new product and revenue opportunities. They will leverage their experience and be responsible for revenue and growth of the StackCommerce vendor platform. This person must be a self‐motivated and analytical leader who is passionate about digital media and ecommerce.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead & Guide. Mentor, manage, and grow our merchant sales team. Oversee sales pipeline and associated planning; monitor and influence the team’s processes, successes and opportunities for growth. Be a strategic leader and resource for the team. Provide valuable knowledge and direction regarding vendor partnerships and customer happiness.
  • Deliver & Optimize. Strive to exceed monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals. Leverage Google Analytics, Looker and other software tools to analyze past performance and project future potential. Utilize Salesforce, Tout and other CRM software to track all pertinent information regarding the sales process with specific focus on forecasting and achieving quarterly goals.
  • Innovate & Pioneer. Drive the sales cycle from start to finish with passion. Identify innovative and fruitful leads in new and existing categories. Research, qualify, and cultivate sales cycle. Pinpoint and enhance category performance. Pioneer company growth by closing and overseeing the success of the best deals on the latest and greatest products and services.

About You:

  • 8+ years of experience sourcing, negotiating, closing, and activating sales and partnerships for an eCommerce, technology or SaaS company
  • Demonstrated ability to hire, manage, and mentor a sales team including AE’s, AM’s, and SDR’s
  • Ability to identify, define, and build partnerships in new categories and verticals
  • A strategic thinker able to see the big picture, innovate and adapt to constant change
  • A strong negotiator with the passion to win and an unwillingness to take ‘no’ for an answer
  • Highly organized and entrepreneurial with the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Analytical with the inherent ability to pinpoint, retain, and utilize metrics to drive decisions
  • Motivated team player with the ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal
  • Proven track record of working with and influencing AEs, AMs, executives, extended teams

Big pluses:

  • Bachelor’s degree in sales or business is preferable.
  • Strong performance record in a sales environment.
