Sr. Director, Multifamily Sales

The opportunity for Wireless in the MDU space is huge. And Boingo is one of the best-positioned players in the space. With our 18-year track record of providing amazing wireless service in venues from LAX to The World Trade Center in NY, we have the team to support your success in this role. You’ll take on ownership of the organization’s Sales Organization. As the Sales Manager you’ll lead the creation and execution of the business unit’s sales strategy. Additionally, in your role as Sales Manager, you will oversee the team responsible for working within the Multifamily ecosystem driving the development of Wi-Fi, data and video networks at MDU properties throughout the United States. Most importantly, you will be responsible for promoting a culture of people-driven, high performance, collaboration and innovation.

To be successful in this role, you should:

  • Have existing corporate contacts and an established reputation within the Real Estate and/or Multifamily ecosystem including key contacts at large REITs
  • Strategically sell Boingo’s suite of services at various levels within the Real Estate ecosystem including VP, and SVP, and C-Level.
  • Deep understanding of the wireless ecosystem driving the development of large-scale partnership opportunities with Real Estate owners and Managers
  • Previous sales management responsibility for a team with quotas/goals greater than $20M
  • Directly negotiate, structure, and sign revenue generating contrats in excess of $3M
  • Work cross-functionally with Finance, Product, Engineering and Operations to drive business improvements to align with the wireless ecosystem
  • Market the Boingo brand and expand existing product suite within wireless carriers via professional contacts, industry conferences, educational, and networking events.

Expectations:

  • Review and modify existing operating plan to determine business, financial and strategic viability of focused opportunities within the first 60 days.
  • Implement strategic plan to ensure business objectives are met, sales forecasting and pipeline management are in place within the first 90 days.
  • Establish presence in the wireless community as key Boingo executive responsible for this line of business through in person meetings with key customers within each carrier in the first 180 days.
  • Execute business plan with expectation of 20%+ growth annually with immediate impact on current year goals

Requirements:

  • 5-7+ years of business development, consulting and/or banking experience preferably in the technology, telecom or commercial real estate, with proven record in managing teams responsible for signing large deals.
  • 3-5+ years of sales management experience with high performing teams and the ability to identify and grow talented salespeople.
  • Proven track record of closing large deals (>$5M) and regularly meeting or exceeding quota.
  • Previous P&L of a business line greater than $10M
  • Ability to manage and forecast a pipeline of 500+ opportunities.
  • Ability to negotiate and execute contracts by leveraging cross-functional resources.
  • Strong understanding of wireless ecosystem and 5G technologies including Wi-Fi, mmWave, CBRS, LTE, and IoT.
  • Capacity to work independently and adapt to Boingo’s fast-paced and dynamic culture.
  • Willingness to up to 60% of the time based on standard 40 hour work week.
