Job Summary:
The Purchasing Specialist directly supports the Buying Team in executing online business initiatives, merchandising strategies and website conversion to maximize opportunities and increase overall sales. The role acts as a liaison between a variety of cross-functional teams including Marketing, Product Content, and IT coordinating promotions and merchandising direction as negotiated and directed by the Buying team.

Job Expectations:

• The Purchasing specialist should be able to take on a task, or project assigned and quickly assess and define the process, risks, and goal and take on or sub-task to others to complete and meet deadlines.
• They provide support to Managers and other Buyers on projects and day-to-day activities
• Candidates would need to efficiently and effectively collect, maintain and update data inside and outside system for various vendor, brand and product level projects
• Create, review and utilize reports to enable in-depth analysis of category successes
• Take on short/long term projects for betterment and growth of department/team
• Solve and respond to customer concerns from Customer Service team
• Maintain and update Purchasing/Merchandising Policies & Procedures Manual/Forms
• Assist Purchasing/Merchandising department coordinator for events, supplies and clerical needs
• Comply with company policies and procedures, including safety, business ethics, and standards of conduct

• Independent thinker with excellent attention to detail
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Ability to communicate in writing and verbally in a professional manner with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, problem solve and prioritize with awareness of deadlines
• Solid decision making skills, great follow up, team player
• Strong computer skills, highly proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Photoshop

Experience Requirements:
 

• Requires a minimum of two (2) years of experience in merchandising, purchasing, marketing or sales 
• E-Commerce experience highly desirable.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) in Business or related field preferred, or a combination of education and equivalent work experience
