Sales Experience is not necessary. This is an entry level position and we will train the right candidates. This is not a traditional sales position but does involve research and critical thinking. We offer a professional office environment with permanent positions available to successful performers. Compensation starts between $15.00 and $18.00 per hour (or full time equivalent) plus bonuses based on productivity. Initial training and ongoing training will be provided by Shippabo.

WHO WE ARE

Opportunity. Our quickly growing business has an immediate need for a Business Lead Researcher. This position offers the right candidate a unique opportunity to develop and grow within the company.

Summary. Reporting to the Sales Supervisor, the Researcher is responsible for building (and maintaining) the house list, via a combination of online and telephone research. The role identifies potential customers and discovers the critical information about these prospects required to target them appropriately.

On any given day, you will: 

  • Work within industry databases and websites to identify projects and decision makers.
  • Update and add new projects, opportunities, and contacts into the CRM.
  • Research opportunities provided by team members for accurate data and contact information.
  • Call prospective contacts to verify accuracy of contact information and key decision makers.

What we are looking for: 

  • 2-3 years undergrad research experience. You have an eye for details and know your way around a database. Previous support within the Logistics/Shipping industry is a plus! If you don’t have the experience, tell us in your cover letter why you’re still a great fit for the position.
  • CRM experience. We use a CRM database to manage our sales pipeline, so it’s helpful if you have experience using one. (We will provide thorough training on the use of our CRM and data entry protocol).
  • Computer Skills.We are a MAC based office so general knowledge of Mac OS is a plus and you know your way around office tools like MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
  • Confident and engaging personality. You are not afraid to pick up the phone and speak to people at all levels of an organization and extracting the information you need.
  • Organized multi-tasker. You are responsible for keeping the Sales team’s pipelines clean, accurate, and full, so the ability to prioritize tasks and stay organized are a must! This is a quick moving environment and new leads need to be generated every day.
