About the Director, Health Partnerships at Headspace:

Headspace is looking for an industry expert to lead Health Partnerships and support the Healthcare and Business Development teams in helping achieving the mission of Improving the Health and Happiness of the World.


You have a passion for tackling the unknown and working to creatively answer questions that haven’t been explored. You gain energy from working with people and enjoy being at the center of all aspects of a project. You enjoy bringing people together to work toward a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts. You’re a super communicator verbally and visually, you can take complex information and distill it into “ah-ha” moments for each member of your target audience. You balance thoughtfulness and speed in your responses.


You’re a collaborative project and people management whiz with experience and interest in using your talents to grow healthcare partnerships and change the face of healthcare through technology. Perhaps you’ve had experience with leading partnerships or partner success teams or come from a business development leadership background. In addition to being a true strategic leader within partnerships you’re also a healthcare native with experience in transformative digital health. You have memorized the map of the healthcare landscape and have an informed and practical understanding of how Headspace fits in. You’re a thinker, planner and do-er. You’ve been in roles previously where you’ve had to roll-up your sleeves and manage both vision and execution. If this sounds like you, we’d love to meet you.


Health partnerships is a critical part of Headspace’s business and is ultimately what lets our product get into the hands of patients, providers, payors, and employees. You will be at the core of making sure that new partnerships are established, launched successfully, and delivered without a hitch. As you well know, successful partnership management is collaborative. On a daily basis you will work with members of the Health and Science and Business Development teams. You will also work closely with other team members including Marketing, User Research, Growth, and other Product teams. As one of the first members on a growing team devoted exclusively to Healthcare, you’ll have a chance to shape how we work with health partners and maximize success.


How your skills and passion will come to life at Headspace:

  • Lead strategy for health partnerships, largely focused on health care organizations, payors, and life science companies.
  • Work closely with BD team to help prioritize health-related leads, close deals, and plan partnership/implementation designs
  • Learn how to successfully manage all incoming inquiries from the Customer Experience Team and BD Team
  • Post-deal close, manage partner relationship toward key success metrics
  • Understand relevant industry trends through continued research
  • Work alongside science, medical, and other health professionals
  • Work closely with BD to support partner launches
  • Accountable for planning, tracking, and documenting projects to ensure timeliness, effectiveness, and success of internal and partner projects
  • Identify evidence generation opportunities with health partners and involve science team in helping cultivate, design, and execute evidence generating health partnerships.
  • Contribute to the development and sharing of best practices for partnership management and user success within Headspace team
  • Be a leader at Headspace while embodying Headspace's core values - selfless drive, courageous heart, and curious mind

What you’ve accomplished:

  •  BA/BS degree required, with graduate education in business or healthcare preferred
  • 10+ years work experience
  • Familiarity and comfort working in an early- or mid-stage company; readily adaptable to changing market and organizational requirements
  • Basic understanding of health economics
  • Ideal candidate has had a leadership role previously, and is able to juggle multiple projects with ease.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Entrepreneurial work ethic
  • Passion for healthcare and the mission that technology serves in creating value for the healthcare ecosystem
  • Be eligible to work in the US
  • Be willing to work out of our Santa Monica office–this is not a remote position

We're located in the heart of Santa Monica on Michigan + Cloverfield, just off the 10 freeway. Bergamont train station is right behind our office.
