The Sales Training Supervisor will support sales activities and administration functions for California Direct Sales in one of two sales training centers. Duties will include onboarding new agents, training and coaching, administrative and compliance support, and production for new employees in the sales agent trainee role.
Objectives for the position include increasing overall sales and individual agent productivity; reducing first-year turnover; improving agents' sales skills; improving service quality scores through training and coaching; identifying training and knowledge gaps and working with other field trainers and Sales Training Manager to revise training curriculum. Their goal is to ensure the job training is comprehensive and supportive of agent success and productivity within the first 12 months.
The Sales Training Supervisor will work with Sales Agent Trainees and newly hired support staff. The Supervisor will report to the CA DSU Sales Training Manager.
Job Duties

  • Onboard Sales Agent Trainees immediately after training with Education, Training, and Development. Utilize the onboarding manual to help new agents translate what was learned in training into action. Work with new agents regarding computer functions and software; reemphasize Time and Attendance rules, quoting and applications; Club Hub resources; key daily reports and tools; establish initial daily schedule.

  • Training sessions- small groups and individual. Primarily focused on Sales Agent Trainees. Utilize CA DSU Sales Training Operation Production Bullpen Manual and Curriculum, roleplay, insurance product information, and ACE phone scripts. Coordinate with Sales Training Manager. Provide coaching as requested by the Regional Manager for specific agents.

  • Support Regional Managers regarding New Business pipeline. Work with assigned agents to get new business policies packaged and uploaded. Utilize various reports to monitor quotes not sold and other lead sources to support Sales Agent Trainee productivity.

  • Support Sales Agent Trainees service quality and service quality scores. Work with Sales Training and Regional Managers to determine key service quality elements which need improvement, train/coach/follow up to ensure improved scores.

  • Meet regularly with the CA DSU Sales Training Managers. Coordinate scheduling of Sales Agent Trainees upcoming activities, plan / review training sessions and progress, discuss concerns and trends, confirm logistics for upcoming meetings, address action items from weekly RM meetings.

  • Support Regional Managers regarding compliance audits. Complete audits for assigned agents, train / coach to improve policy documentation, organization, accuracy, Do Not Call procedures, etc.

  • The position will serve as a resource for Sales Agent Trainees.

  • Comprehensive onboarding provides new agents with necessary tools, reduces logistical obstacles and allows new agents to focus on sales immediately.

  • This position will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the Sales Training Center location they are assigned to and for recognizing and reporting personnel, technology, or facility issues.

  • Responsible for ensuring WOTC reporting is compliant, and all trainees are following schedules.

  • Track and drive measures of success/impact such as: business results, enhanced talent pipeline, retention, and new behaviors clearly demonstrated for the SAT position.

  • Monitoring and entering drive time for trainees lodged in hotels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 1-3 years Direct Sales experience. Required

  • Thorough knowledge of insurance sales business practices and procedures as well as regulatory and compliance preferred.

  • Proficiency in using all Microsoft Office software products required.

  • Proficiency with all internal systems related to Sales is preferred.

  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and provide support at multiple levels (agents, IBMs, RMs).

  • Must enjoy working in a fast-paced, challenging team-oriented environment.

  • Must be an independent thinker.

  • Excels in a training and development or coaching capacity.

Travel Requirements

  • Local travel to DSU locations. (40% proficiency)

The starting pay range for this position is:

$69,300.00 - $92,600.00
