About Us:

Notion helps you build beautiful tools for your life’s work. In today's world of endless apps and tabs, Notion provides one place for teams to get everything done, seamlessly connecting docs, notes, projects, calendar, and email—with AI built in to find answers and automate work. Millions of users, from individuals to large organizations like Toyota, Figma, and OpenAI, love Notion for its flexibility and choose it because it helps them save time and money.

In-person collaboration is essential to Notion's culture. We require all team members to work from our offices on Mondays and Thursdays, our designated Anchor Days. Certain teams or positions may require additional in-office workdays.

About The Role:

As a Sales Strategy & Operations Manager, you'll play a crucial role in shaping our go-to-market strategy and driving data-informed decision-making across our sales organization. This position sits at the intersection of sales, strategy, and analytics, offering the opportunity to significantly impact Notion's growth trajectory. You'll work closely with sales leadership and cross-functional teams to optimize processes, deliver actionable insights, and support key strategic initiatives. You will report directly to the Head of Sales Strategy & Operations.

We are looking for someone who is a first-principles thinker, has strong analytical skills, and is effective at building cross-functional partnerships. This is a highly quantitative role. You should be excited to dive into analyses and build complex financial and operational process models that clearly incorporate granular operational nuance. We’re looking for someone with a high sense of ownership, track record of building from scratch and ability to communicate across levels and audiences to get things done.

What You'll Achieve:
  • Strategic Partnership & Global Influence: Develop analyses that help design, set and measure strategy for the global Sales organization. Present optionality to leadership to inform the right big bets for annual and in-year plans. Lead through influence across GTM Leadership, BizTech, Data, Finance and more to deliver results.

  • Quantitative analysis: Build, from scratch, complex Excel models that senior business leadership can rely on for big bets. You will be building assets like headcount capacity models that have clear best practice standards. You’ll also be modeling processes and ideas that have no clear precedents Think: how do I model AI leverage in GTM processes?

  • Operations Strategy: Think from first principles as to how Notion’s revenue teams should be organized, designed and managed. Help us set the target operating state, set work back plans to achieve the target and be a hands own driver and owner of the path there. Help us design the big picture, but roll up your sleeves to get into the detail.

  • Actionable Performance Visibility: Build KPI reviews that identify risks and trends, enabling data-driven decisions across all levels. Design and implement comprehensive sales performance dashboards that provide clear visibility into our operations. Generate insights about performance and drivers to guide critical decisions. Partner with RevOps, GTM Leads and BizTech to establish robust global operating processes.

Skills You'll Need to Bring:
  • 2-5 years of total professional experience in challenging professional environments

  • 1-3 years in investment banking, hedge fund investing or equivalent quantitative role

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or similar quantitative field and/or demonstrated quantitative achievement in challenging professional environments

  • Top tier analytical skills -- can model any operational question full cycle (develop assumptions and model output with minimal guidance)

  • Advanced Excel skills with a track record of building scalable, flexible, insight-driven models and tools

  • Proficiency with core sales tools (e.g. Salesforce, Gong, Outreach, etc.)

  • High EQ -- works well with stakeholders, gains trust, enjoys working with people

  • Senior presence -- can convey complex information to executives clearly and concisely; can resolve tradeoffs. Effective communicator across levels and audiences

  • Hands on -- extensive experience and interest in building from scratch

  • High ownership -- high ownership mentality demonstrated by developing projects of >6-12 months length

  • You thrive in ambiguity, love the big picture, but are eager to build from scratch and continuously improve processes

Nice to Haves:
  • Notion power user or desire to learn -- prior Notion experience is not required, but you have the ability and desire to become a pro

  • Experience with statistical methods, SQL, Tableau, Python and/or other advanced analytics and BI/Dashboarding

  • History of promotions or progressive responsibilities at work

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
