Tengo Internet is looking for a disciplined, driven business development professional to help open a new vertical and create net-new pipeline. This is a role for someone who wants to hunt, develop relationships, and help expand the company into new relationships in our current market and or expand into markets

The Role

This is a true outbound new-business role focused on helping Tengo expand into a new relationships in our existing market, vertical or adjacent market.

Rather than relying on the current inbound engine, this role will work from a defined list of target accounts, management groups, ownership groups, or strategic prospects. The purpose is to test and build new-market growth while protecting the current customer base and internal pipeline.

This role is designed for someone who can create opportunities, open conversations, qualify real potential, and help shape a repeatable go-to-market motion in a new segment.

What You’ll Do
  • Prospect into a defined list of target accounts, management groups, and ownership groups
  • Help open a new vertical or adjacent market for Tengo Internet
  • Conduct outbound calls, emails, and follow-up to generate qualified conversations
  • Attend trade shows/conferences to develop new relationships and expand existing ones
  • Build relationships with decision-makers and uncover real opportunities
  • Qualify prospects using a structured consultative process
  • Build and manage an early-stage pipeline in CRM
  • Work with leadership to refine messaging, approach, and market strategy
  • Participate in coaching and execute with discipline and persistence

What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in business development, SDR, BDR, outside sales, or new-market sales
  • Experience opening new territories, segments, or verticals
  • Comfortable initiating contact and building relationships from scratch
  • Persistent, disciplined, and resilient
  • Strong communication skills and professional follow-through
  • Organized and accountable
  • Self-directed, coachable, and motivated by building
  • Values-aligned with strong character and work ethic
  • Availability for 10-15% travel
Nice to Have
  • Experience selling into hospitality, telecom, property, infrastructure, or related industries
  • CRM experience
  • Familiarity with management groups, ownership groups, or channel/partner development
Important Role Design Notes
  • This role is focused on new business creation, not managing Tengo’s existing customer base
  • During the initial ramp period, this role may not receive broad access to Tengo’s existing customer database
  • This role may begin with a defined target account list to protect current relationships while testing hunting capability
  • Success will come from creating net-new opportunities, not inheriting warm inbound leads

CompensationBase salary plus commission
Compensation will be structured to align with the demands of a true new-business role and the candidate’s experience level, with performance tied to pipeline creation and revenue generation.
Compensation

Base salary plus commission. Total Target Compensation (TTC) of $150,000 to $300,000+ based on performance and commissions. We offer a base salary of $65,000 to $85,000, plus an aggressive commission plan designed to help the right person reach (and exceed) target earnings. Compensation is designed to be competitive for the right person and rewards consistent production and exceeding quota. A draw may be considered during ramp for the right candidate. No Sales cap...
