The Opportunity:

Avantor is seeking a Sales and Operations Planning Manager to establish and oversee the sales and operating planning and supply chain planning strategy (2 – 5 years out) in alignment with the Avantor Vision, Mission, and Strategy and the long-range plan. 
 
This role will be a full-time Virtual/Remote position with travel up to 25% (as needed). You will have the opportunity to demonstrate leadership that expresses, models, and reinforces a culture of accountability, high performance, change leadership and empowerment!

What we’re looking for: 

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 5 - 7 years of experience in supply chain, demand planning, or S&OP management.
  • APICS certification preferred.
  • Distribution experience is a plus.
  • Additional Qualifications: 
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, to drive alignment.
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking, with ability to influence stakeholders and have strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and implementing S&OP processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in forecasting and data-driven decision-making.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and demand planning tools (e.g. SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

How you will thrive and create an impact: 

  • Be responsible for leading and managing the Sales and Operations Planning process to align supply chain capabilities with business objectives.
  • Ensure collaboration across departments, including sales, marketing, finance, and operations, to develop and execute an integrated demand and supply plan.

  • Play a key role in driving operational efficiency, improving forecast accuracy, optimizing inventory, and meeting customer service goals.

  • S&OP Process Leadership: Oversee and lead the monthly S&OP process, ensuring alignment between supply and demand plans; Facilitate cross-functional meetings to drive consensus on forecasts, inventory strategies, and production schedules; Develop and maintain S&OP best practices, policies and standard work.

  • Demand Planning: Work closely with sales and marketing to consolidate and analyze demand forecasts; Monitor sales trends, market dynamics, and promotional activities to refine demand projections.

  • ​Supply Planning: Collaborate with production and supply chain teams to ensure supply plans meet demand requirements; Optimize capacity planning, production schedules, and inventory levels to meet service-level targets.

  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Develop and maintain S&OP dashboards and KPIs to track performance and identify areas for improvement; Analyze variances between forecasts, plans, and actual performance, driving corrective actions as needed.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison between sales, operations, finance, and supply chain teams; Ensure all stakeholders are aligned on key business priorities, risks, and opportunities.​

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve the S&OP process, tools, and systems; Drive initiatives to enhance forecast accuracy, inventory management, and supply chain agility.
