You will own the estimating and quoting process for our electrical Balance of System (eBOS) product line, working closely with Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Finance teams to ensure pricing integrity, streamlined workflows, and high-quality customer proposals.

This is a high-impact, cross-functional role ideal for someone who thrives on detail, process optimization, and enabling sales teams to win.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the end-to-end estimating and quoting process for eBOS products, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of proposals to support sales opportunities

  • Build and maintain robust pricing models and tools that align with cost structures, margin goals, and competitive benchmarks

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on eBOS product configurations, technical specs, and cost inputs in collaboration with Engineering and Product teams

  • Work closely with Sales Directors and Account Managers to structure deals, refine proposal strategies, and tailor customer responses

  • Manage and optimize Salesforce.com workflows and reporting related to quoting and pipeline visibility

  • Standardize proposal templates, bid documentation, and sales enablement assets for the eBOS product line

  • Collaborate with Cost Accounting, Supply Chain, and Logistics to validate pricing assumptions and lead time data

  • Develop and deliver regular reporting on quote volumes, conversion rates, pricing trends, and margin performance

  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline sales operations and shorten quote turnaround times

  • Support training and onboarding of Sales team members on quoting tools and procedures

  • Ensure compliance with internal approval workflows, margin thresholds, and deal desk governance

  • Maintain a high level of responsiveness and customer service to both internal stakeholders and external partners

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, or related field (MBA a plus)

  • 5+ years of experience in sales operations, pricing, estimating, or business analysis — ideally in the solar or renewable energy sector

  • Strong understanding of eBOS components (cabling, combiners, disconnects, transformers, etc.) and technical solution sales

  • Proficient in Salesforce.com and Excel-based modeling (knowledge of NetSuite ERP a plus)

  • Demonstrated success managing complex quoting processes and working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

  • Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and continuously improving systems and processes

  • Passion for clean energy and sustainable technology

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
