We’re looking for an experienced Sales Incentive Manager to join our growing Commercial Operations Team. This leader will act as a strategic thought partner, collaborating with senior business leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to design and implement effective, scalable sales incentive programs (e.g., base plans, SPIFFs). They will provide data-driven insights on complex sales incentive matters and develop solutions that are strategically aligned with business goals. This role will also work closely across the Commercial organization, supporting the Commercial Insights and Operations (CIO) team’s vision to unlock the full potential of the Commercial organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and execution of GRAIL’s sales incentive programs in alignment with key guiding principles.
  • Advise and educate senior stakeholders on incentive program options and processes.
  • Support the development and execution of governance processes with stakeholders across HR, Finance, and business leadership.
  • Manage sales incentive benchmarking surveys, including data submissions and the maintenance of internal market pricing structures.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for all sales incentive processes.
  • Write and maintain credit and commission rules within the sales incentive (SI) platform.
  • Process payroll and accruals in partnership with Finance and Accounting.
  • Calculate sales quotas on an ongoing basis.
  • Calculate, update, and share Circle of Excellence rankings to encourage high performance among the sales team.
  • Support sales incentive system design and data processes to enhance performance reporting and promote self-service capabilities for Field Sales.
  • Develop project plans and communication materials to ensure successful implementation of initiatives.
  • Research best practices and trends; analyze the effectiveness, competitiveness, and fairness of programs and tools; and present thoughtful, creative, and aligned solutions.
  • Communicate system updates related to sales incentives and ensure supporting materials and training are provided.
  • Maintain high standards of data integrity across systems and tools.
  • Ensure that senior leaders, front-line managers, and employees can access real-time and scheduled business-critical reports and insights.
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs and relevant policies, while significantly raising the bar on data accuracy, process integrity, and access security.
  • Support organizational scaling through insights, self-service tools, and streamlined reporting.
  • Identify automation opportunities and partner with cross-functional teams (People, Finance, IT, Legal) to implement improvements.
  • Conduct regular business process reviews and develop action plans for continuous improvement.
  • Respond to sales inquiries related to compensation processes and payouts.
  • Act as a brand ambassador.
  • Partner with business leaders to design analyses that address key business questions.
  • Deliver robust analysis and dashboards to support critical Commercial initiatives.
  • Contribute to the creation of dashboards, resources, and training materials for the Commercial team.
  • Participate in ad-hoc Commercial projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent additional relevant work experience.
  • 8+ years of compensation and HR-related work experience in a high growth organization and the ability to scale compensation strategies.
  • Experience working with multiple sales incentive administration platforms - Xactly preferred
  • Understanding of HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT business processes and how they interact with compensation-related initiatives.
  • Critical thinker with the ability to develop innovative solutions.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion, maintaining confidentiality when required.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to streamline processes and improve data quality.
  • Customer-focused with effective stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a primary focus on core responsibilities.
  • Excellent ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Self-directed problem solver with a desire to contribute to the Company and team’s success.
  • Knowledge of local (CA) and federal employment legislation and best practices
  • Familiarity with Google Suite and Microsoft Office software & documents
  • Experience with Xactly and DocuSign as admin user.

Expected full time annual base pay scale for this position is $130K-$163K. Actual base pay will consider skills, experience and location.


Based on the role, colleagues may be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan tied to company and individual performance, or an incentive plan. We also offer a long-term incentive plan to align company and colleague success over time.
