Are you one of the most ambitious people you know? Do you love being customer facing, but also have strong technical skills? If so, you've found your perfect role.
We are looking for a Sales Engineer to help our customers have the best possible Unwrap onboarding experience while enabling our Sales team to close more deals.
You will lead our customers' first experience with our platform, including getting their data integrated, deeply understand their business and the goals they're aiming to achieve with Unwrap, and building out their Unwrap instance to ensure they are able to achieve their goals.
Who We Are
Unwrap.ai is on a mission to fill the world with products people love. We’re helping companies like Lyft, DoorDash, lululemon, Stripe, Oura, Microsoft, Perplexity, and Github better understand their customers so they can build their best product. We ingest feedback from thousands of sources (support channels, surveys, social), and use state-of-the-art NLP technology to extract actionable insights for customers across software, hardware, and retail sectors.
We’re currently a team of 30, based in Santa Barbara, and growing quickly. We are venture-backed, and just raised our $12M Series A from world-leading VCs.
Our founders, two ex-Amazon Alexa Product Managers, were tired of manually sifting through customer reviews, support tickets, and bugs while working on Alexa. They understood the importance of listening to customers and prioritizing their requests effectively, but simply had too much feedback to parse through. So, Unwrap.ai was born to solve this problem.
Our small team is extremely motivated, hard-working, and simply gets stuff done. If this sounds exciting, we can't wait to read your application.
Why are we hiring for this role?
We are growing too quickly for our current team, and cannot support the growing number of new prospective customers
By hiring for this role, we will expand our capacity to run more Proof of Concepts and onboard more customers in a shorter period. This will enable us to sign more customers faster and release a constraint holding us back from hitting our aggressive growth goals this year.
What we look for
1+ year of experience in a customer-facing role. You’re comfortable talking to customers, and can build trust with our customer base.
Experience at a SaaS startup OR experience at a top consulting firm / elite company with clear interest in joining an early-stage startup
Aptitude in these areas:
Structured troubleshooting: knowing how to debug issues in software in a structured, methodical way
Systems thinking: understanding concepts like data types, system constraints, and data inter-dependencies
Context-specific communication: producing crisp, customer-facing updates with facts, next steps, and timelines, that pivot context based on audience (e.g. CPO vs. Associate PM)
You’re a strong communicator who can break down complex ideas for both technical and non-technical audiences.
You love solving customer problems. You are curious, empathetic, and able to handle challenging situations with grace.
You thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and are excited to have a direct impact on both our product and our customers’ experience.
Excited about working in-person in Santa Barbara.
What you get
Ground floor impact at a Series-A startup with tremendous latitude over technical support strategy and customer success.
Significant, potentially life-changing equity.
Ability to rapidly advance your career alongside company growth.
Opportunity to join a future billion-dollar company at an early stage.
