As a Sales Engineer, you'll facilitate pre-sales efforts through technical demos, integration planning, and customer advocacy, ensuring effective use of the Zus platform.
Who we are
Zus is a shared health data platform designed to accelerate healthcare data interoperability by providing easy-to-use patient data via API, embedded components, and direct EHR integrations. Founded in 2021 by Jonathan Bush, co-founder and former CEO of athenahealth, Zus partners with HIEs and other data networks to aggregate patient clinical history and then translates that history into user-friendly information at the point of care. Zus's mission is to catalyze healthcare's greatest inventors by maximizing the value of patient insights - so that they can build up, not around.
What we’re looking for
We're seeking a passionate and technically adept Sales Engineer to join our early team and help bring the Zus platform to life for prospects and customers.
As a Sales Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in the pre-sales process, helping potential customers understand, evaluate, and adopt the Zus platform. You'll lead technical demos, build proof-of-concepts, troubleshoot integrations, and ensure prospects and customers alike experience the full value Zus has to offer. You’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to shape how we support customers and scale adoption.
As part of our team you will
- Deliver technical demos and communicate Zus’s value proposition to diverse audiences—from developers to C-suite stakeholders
- Develop and maintain internal and customer-facing implementation tools and documentation
- Lead technical discovery and own pre-sales proof-of-concept projects that showcase the power of Zus’s APIs
- Create implementation plans and guide customers through integrating with Zus APIs, data models, and infrastructure
- Troubleshoot integration hurdles and serve as the front-line technical partner to customers
- Be a customer advocate—represent their needs and feedback to Product and Engineering
- Ensure successful handoff and continuity from pre-sales to post-sale
- Collaborate cross-functionally to improve our go-to-market motion, collateral, and tools
- Jump in wherever needed to help us move fast, learn quickly, and build something meaningful
You're a good fit because
- 3+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Architecture, or Implementation roles
- Prior experience working directly with RESTful APIs, FHIR/C-CDA/HL7 standards, and EMR data
- Proficiency in SQL and comfort working with healthcare data models
- Deep curiosity about and/or experience in digital health, interoperability, or value-based care
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Empathy for users and a passion for creating a stellar customer experience
- A collaborative, startup-ready mindset—flexible, proactive, and ready to take initiative
- A track record of problem-solving in real-time and staying calm under pressure
We will offer you…
• Competitive compensation that reflects the value you bring to the team a combination of cash and equity
• Robust benefits that include health insurance, wellness benefits, 401k with a match, unlimited PTO
• Opportunity to work alongside a passionate team that is determined to help change the world (and have fun doing it)
Please Note: Research shows that candidates from underrepresented backgrounds often don’t apply unless they meet 100% of the job criteria. While we have worked to consolidate the minimum qualifications for each role, we aren’t looking for someone who checks each box on a page; we’re looking for active learners and people who care about disrupting the current healthcare system with their unique experiences.
We do not conduct interviews by text nor will we send you a job offer unless you've interviewed with multiple people, including the Director of People & Talent, over video interviews. Job scams do exist so please be careful with your personal information.
