Overview:
Mastercard Identity is the global standard in identity verification and behavioral assessment, providing businesses worldwide the ability to link any digital transaction to a human or entity behind it. Our solutions use complex machine learning to combine features derived from the billions of transactions within our proprietary network and the data from our models to deliver industry-leading fraudulent activity detection and risk assessment solutions.
As a Sales Engineer on the Mastercard Identity team, you will have a diverse set of responsibilities supporting Sales using technical know-how and product expertise to grow a best-in-class product suite in the identity solutions industry.
The role is focused on ensuring prospects understand our solutions from a technical perspective with the aim of deriving the best possible value from our ecosystem, which is built on machine learning and a foundation of data science and financial services. As the product expert, you will collaborate with Sales to understand prospect pain points, workflows, goals, and risks to determine product fit. You advise prospects on how to best leverage our data in their systems, set up proof of value tests, provide training, represent Mastercard Identity in the market and at customer engagements, attend conferences, and liaise with our Product team to share customer feedback to improve our products.
In this role, you will:
Work with our Sales team to win deals and drive sales to completion in the North America market
Ensure an exceptional experience throughout the pre-sale process
Be the subject matter expert in the Mastercard Identity suite of products and solutions
Use your technical skills to show a strong understanding of the underlying technologies, data processing, and web architecture
Use your data science knowledge to explain data features and probability-based decisioning to provide the most value to customers, and how to make it actionable for their specific use case
Use your business skills to understand business needs and position Mastercard Identity products to design solutions using them
Use your soft skills to build strong relationships with prospects and customers
Use your writing skills to create documentation for prospects, customers, and for internal use
Be the trusted advisor, instilling trust to enable customers to rely on you for sound advice and strategic guidance, and to inform their decision-making process.
Drive success through proof of value product tests
Provide training to enable a solid understanding of the offering and ensure a smooth onboarding experience
Liaise with the Product team to bring customer-facing perspectives and customer feedback, and to contribute insights for the product roadmap
Attend and present at conferences and webinars, and support the creation of documentation including best practices, industry knowledge, the competitive landscape, and the direction of trends
Travel requirements are limited but could be up to 25%
All About You:
Proven experience as a Sales Engineer
Experience in leading discovery to qualify customer needs and determine viable solutions of value
Posses a solid understanding of data science concepts and machine learning models
Posses a solid understanding of API-delivered services and web architecture
Experience with Python programming and SQL
Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work with business leadership, product managers, data scientists, engineers, and marketers alike
Proven ability to establish credibility with technical leaders in customer organizations
Posses business acumen to understand customer business drivers, risks and benefits, and value of our solutions
Posses analytical skills to build solutions that integrate within a customer workflow specification
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to convey technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders
Posses excellent problem-solving skills in complex environments
Are fluent in English
Background in fraud and the payments industry is preferred

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in Canada, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive pay based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.
