The successful Sales Engineer exhibits a breadth and depth of product and functional mastery as well as being a highly energetic, proactive, achievement-oriented problem-solver. Sales Engineers leverage their knowledge of business functions and technology and collaborative demeanor to team with Account Executives to sell and deliver Stardog’s data unification platform.
The Sales Engineer's primary duty, as a member of the sales team, is to own and secure the technical and functional win to new and existing customers. You’ll leverage your product knowledge, industry insights, consultative selling skills, communication and presentations skills to engage with stakeholders, decision-makers and executive sponsors. Further, you’ll conduct discovery with customers and prospects to understand their business priorities, functional requirements, pain points and desired outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Through a comprehensive discovery process gather all relevant data and information and map out solutions that demonstrate Stardog’s ability to meet or exceed requirements
- Present innovative solutions and customized demonstrations to stakeholders
- Present Stardog’s platform while demonstrating deep familiarity with the customer’s technical and business environment
- Effectively engage both technical and line of business audiences in identifying the positive business outcomes enabled through Stardog's unique approach to data unification
- Respond to RFIs and RFPs in a comprehensive and timely manner
- Collaborate with key third-party alliance partners and influencers
- Serve as the critical liaison between product management, engineering, customer success and professional services and our enterprise prospects and customers
Requirements
- 5-7+ years of technology experience in various roles including (but not limited to) pre-sales consultant, solutions architect, technical account management, software engineer or service delivery
- Experience with technologies deployed on-premise or cloud-based either as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) or hosted
- Ideally hands-on knowledge of graph technologies such as RDF, LPG and ontologies (OWL). Experience with SPARQL a bonus
- Familiarity with Large Language Models, and leveraging LLMs & Agents in a corporate environment to drive business value
- Experience selling to or working within the data management and/or analytics space
- Familiarity with the use of and deployment onto cloud platforms from AWS, Azure or GCP
- Track record of consistent high performance and accomplishment of assigned goals in past positions
- Experience interacting with stakeholders from technical champion to CxO level
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to travel as needed, typically supporting clients in the U.S. market (estimated to be 25%)
- Bachelor’s degree
