Description

At Utila, we build the enterprise-grade platform that more than 300 global institutions run their digital asset operations on. Our technology secures $25B+ in monthly transaction volume and has protected over $200B to date. We’re backed by $50M in funding, and our customer base is growing fast.

The systems we build are mission-critical, so we hold them to the highest standard: precise, secure, and reliable. If you want to own hard problems end to end, work alongside people who raise the bar, and leave your mark on the future of financial technology, you’ll feel at home here.

How we work
At Utila, we believe in extreme ownership. It’s our philosophy and mindset, how we operate. We Own It.
From an idea, problem, or opportunity to the final product. We have the autonomy to make decisions, challenge what can be better, and the responsibility to make it happen. This fast-paced, high-standard culture isn’t for everyone. And that’s okay.

Responsibilities

As our Sales Director, USA, you’ll lead and grow Utila’s enterprise revenue across the United States. You’ll win new logos, expand strategic accounts, and build executive relationships with institutional customers. You’ll work directly with Leadership, Marketing and Product to shape our go-to-market, close complex deals, and establish Utila as the category leader in institutional digital asset infrastructure. You’ll have a high degree of autonomy, uncapped growth potential and commissions, and an immediate impact on how we grow in new markets.

If you thrive in consultative enterprise sales, enjoy navigating long sales cycles, and know how to turn complex technology into business value, this role is for you.

What you’ll own

  • Utila’s enterprise sales motion across the USA: driving new business, managing strategic accounts, and consistently closing high-value deals.
  • Lead complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles with C-level executives, security teams, compliance and technical buyers.
  • Build and execute a regional GTM strategy with Marketing and Leadership, identifying priority markets, ICPs and verticals.
  • Develop strong executive relationships with customers and partners, positioning Utila as a long-term strategic infrastructure provider.
  • Bring market feedback to Product and PMM to influence roadmap priorities and sharpen our messaging.
  • Pipeline forecasting and revenue targets, with high standards for deal qualification, CRM hygiene and reporting.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of enterprise B2B SaaS sales experience, with a strong track record of closing complex, high-ACV deals in the US market.
  • Experience selling technical or infrastructure products, ideally in fintech, crypto, security, payments or regulated environments.
  • A proven ability to navigate long sales cycles and manage stakeholders across business, legal, compliance and engineering.
  • Strong consultative selling skills, with the ability to translate complex technology into clear business value.
  • You take initiative, work autonomously and see deals through, and you’re comfortable in a fast-growing startup.

Nice to have

  • A strong existing network within banks, fintechs or PSPs.
  • Experience selling custody, wallet infrastructure or payments SaaS products.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
