The Sales Director will lead sales campaigns, advocate for customer needs, develop strategies, build relationships with OEMs, and ensure successful execution of marketing initiatives.
ForeFlight is seeking a US-based Sales Director for our Government & Military team to spearhead sales campaigns in collaboration with Northrop Grumman (NG) and RTX aircraft and mission system Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). This role is pivotal in advocating customer requirements, building strong customer relationships, and ensuring quality campaigns to achieve our Long-Range Business Plan (LRBP) goals. The Sales Director will ensure strategic alignment with NG and Raytheon, other select/related OEMs, and internal stakeholders to exceed regional and country objectives.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Summary pay range: $135,000 - $180,000.
This position is currently part of Boeing but is planned to transition to an independent company owned by Thoma Bravo, as part of a pending divestiture of the Digital Aviation Solutions organization. If you are selected for this role, your employment may initially be with Boeing (dependent on start date). Subject to final regulatory approvals and closing conditions, your employment may transfer to the divested business owned by Thoma Bravo at close. Additional details about this transition will be shared as they become available. Key Responsibilities
- Lead sales campaigns by shaping, building, preserving, and growing partnerships with NG, RTX and other OEMs as it pertains to Jeppesen and ForeFlight solutions.
- Drive sales pipeline and accurately forecast opportunities in Salesforce.
- Leverage MEDDPICC and Close Plans to score and evaluate opportunities.
- Advocate for end-customer requirements that align with Jeppesen ForeFlight, NG, and Raytheon by fostering strong customer relationships.
- Balance enterprise, business unit, and customer goals to drive the LRBP.
- Negotiate and finalize commitments, ensuring mutual benefits for both the customer and Jeppesen ForeFlight.
- Leverage a deep understanding of customer needs and resources to identify areas of alignment and integration.
- Drive sales and campaign activities to successful completion by integrating multiple aspects of the OEM partnership and end-customer needs.
- Develop campaign-specific strategies, procure resources, and secure management commitment for successful execution.
- Create metrics to monitor campaign project status and budget requirements.
- Research and analyze information about NG, RTX, other OEMs, and competitors to enhance our competitive position.
- Establish a broad network of contacts to address customer needs and maintain open lines of communication.
- Collaborate with Jeppesen ForeFlight regional Sales Directors and Account Managers to capture opportunities on a global scale.
- Provide guidance to junior employees on capturing and documenting customer knowledge.
- Initiate and advance customer relationships to be recognized as a trusted business partner.
- Develop customer solutions by coordinating with internal and external processes to provide a competitive advantage.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in B2B and/or B2G sales, preferably in aviation and/or software-related fields.
- Experience working with Northrop Grumman or RTX on U.S. and global aviation and defense mission systems and/or software solutions (highly desired).
- Experience operating Northrop Grumman or RTX aviation and/or defense mission systems (desired).
- U.S. Government security clearance (S or TS) (desired).
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, aerospace, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Proven ability to develop ongoing customer relationships and a passion for selling software and technology products.
- Strong persuasive and influencing skills.
- Prior experience in the aviation industry, flight planning, or as a military and/or professional pilot is a major plus.
- Experience with Salesforce CRM.
- Excellent presentation, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques.
- Experience selling to U.S. Government and Department of Defense, as well as third-party integrators and international military and government entities.
