The Sales Director will lead eCommerce sales by acquiring clients, developing sales strategies, managing pipelines, and collaborating with internal teams.
We are seeking a Sales Director with a focus on eCommerce to lead client acquisition and drive revenue growth in the eCommerce vertical. Reporting directly to the Managing Partner of E-Commerce, this pivotal role will take ownership of all sales activities for eCommerce, transitioning from a referral-based model to a structured, scalable sales framework.
The Sales Director will work closely with the Managing Partner, who has been the sole driver of eCommerce sales to date, to operationalize and expand the sales process. This role offers a competitive base salary, equity in the agency, and an attractive commission structure.
Key Responsibilities- Client Acquisition & Development:
- Identify, target, and engage eCommerce brands seeking holistic growth marketing solutions.
- Build strong relationships with decision-makers to secure high-value retainer clients across strategy, performance marketing, retention, SEO, and development services.
- Sales Strategy:
- Design and implement a scalable sales framework for inbound and outbound lead generation.
- Drive the entire sales lifecycle, including prospecting, lead qualification, needs assessment, and closing.
- Custom Solutions:
- Collaborate with internal teams to craft tailored proposals and strategies that align with clients' growth objectives.
- Pipeline Management:
- Build and manage a robust sales pipeline, ensuring accurate forecasting and consistent deal flow.
- Upselling & Retention:
- Grow existing client relationships by identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional services.
- Leadership & Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Managing Partner to align on goals, strategies, and execution.
- Represent FFG at industry events and conferences to build credibility and generate leads.
- Market Insights:
- Stay updated on eCommerce industry trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging opportunities to inform strategies.
RequirementsRequired Skills & Experience
- Experience:
- 5+ years in sales, business development, or account management, with a focus on eCommerce or marketing agencies.
- Demonstrated success in securing and managing high-value retainer clients.
- Strategic Expertise:
- Ability to develop and execute sales strategies, transitioning from referral-driven to operationalized inbound/outbound models.
- Experience in consultative selling, building long-term client partnerships, and solving complex challenges.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Strong familiarity with eCommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify Plus, Klaviyo) and performance marketing strategies.
- Proficiency in using CRM tools and sales analytics to drive decision-making.
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
