Are you passionate about driving growth in the Controlled Environment sector? We're looking for a dynamic leader to manage a regional team of Controlled Environment Specialists and drive sales across diverse markets.
You'll work closely with the Vice President, Production Specialists to achieve the revenue and margin goals of the Controlled Environment business. This involves daily guidance of Controlled Environment Specialists, regular communication with key suppliers, and collaboration with sales and support teams to establish growth plans across various market segments, including pharma, medical device, diagnostic, food and beverage, electronic, and other industrial accounts. What we’re looking for:
- Education: Biology or other relevant science or technical background with a working knowledge of the life science industry preferred. Formal training and/or equivalent experience in clean room apparel and related consumables, preferred
- Experience: 3-5 years of prior field sales experience, preferably in the controlled environment, clean room, and/or industrial hygiene or safety markets. 1-2 years of prior leadership or sales management experience, preferred
- Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Office, with preference for experience in C4C or Qlikview
- Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the clean room space, including cGMP and regulatory environment.
- Proven track record of delivering sales results as a sales leader in a highly competitive environment, preferred
- Demonstrated ability to achieve results through peer interaction and development of technical sales associates.
- Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and public speaking.
- Ability to conduct complex sales analysis and problem-solving.
- Willingness to travel overnight.
- This position requires a valid driver's license to perform essential functions of the role.
How you will thrive and create an impact :
- Lead and Support: Manage a team of 6-7 Controlled Environment Specialists, driving the clean room apparel and production supplies business across various market segments, including pharma, medical device, diagnostic, food and beverage, electronic, and other industrial accounts.
- Coach and Develop: Guide teams to prospect, establish new customers, manage sales pipelines, and deliver compelling proposals that highlight Avantor’s value proposition to grow and close new business.
- Analyze and Improve: Prepare sales reports on KPIs and proactively address gaps to meet targets.
- Strategize and Motivate: Develop programs and strategies with leadership and portfolio teams to inspire the sales force and enhance performance.
- Hire and Mentor: Recruit, train, and mentor for open positions, providing direct support for onboarding new hires.
- Implement and Leverage: Utilize available resources to effectively execute corporate strategic objectives, marketing plans, and strategies.
- Collaborate and Innovate: Act as a commercial stakeholder to the portfolio team, assisting with NPI funnel creation and new product launch activities.
- Plan and Coordinate: Work with Region Directors to establish growth plans and customer targets within the Controlled Environment product portfolio.
- Represent and Connect: Serve as Avantor’s primary field contact for strategic suppliers, representing commercial leadership in the Controlled Environment business.
- Adapt and Perform: Undertake additional duties as assigned to support the overall success of the Controlled Environment Specialists organization.
Environmental Working Conditions & Physical Effort (Under Typical Positions)
Typically works in a home office environment with extensive regional travel to customer locations.
Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems.
A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis.
Minimal physical effort is required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10 lbs.
