As a Sales Development/Support Specialist, you will help our company achieve its sales goals by focusing on specific customer groups and market segments. This is a remote position reporting to the Market Vice President of Value-Based Care.

As Sales Development/Support Specialist, you will manage tasks that may be complex and require careful consideration of multiple factors before proceeding. You will also help measure the effectiveness of sales programs and support efforts to maintain cost control. Using data to inform recommendations, you will prepare reports for management that improve sales outcomes and overall business growth. You will help shape strategies for bringing products to market and seek opportunities to expand sales by analyzing trends and resource utilization to identify areas for improvement.

An important expectation of this role is the ability to assess each situation and triage it. You will determine which matters you can handle directly and which you should escalate to management or other stakeholders who will handle them. You will collaborate with leaders in business, marketing, and finance to ensure sales plans are effective and competitive. We encourage you to approach assignments thoughtfully and to seek guidance when needed for complex or technical issues.

You will also execute proactive outbound engagement, including phone, targeted email, and event-driven outreach, to create early-stage interest and qualified meetings. You will emphasize high activity, positive energy, and persistence without being pushy. You are comfortable engaging senior and C-suite stakeholders and can quickly identify, qualify, label, and route opportunities to the right owners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute outbound outreach (phone, targeted email, and pre-conference/event campaigns) to guide meetings and early-stage pipeline.
  • Assess and triage inbound and outbound opportunities, determining when to progress, park, or escalate to management or subject-matter experts.
  • Use data to measure outreach effectiveness, conversion rates, and program ROI; prepare reports and recommendations for leadership.
  • Collaborate with business, marketing, and finance partners to optimize go-to-market plans.
  • Support conference or event-based outreach strategies to drive targeted executive engagement.
  • Maintain pipeline hygiene and activity documentation in CRM systems.
  • Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for improving sales effectiveness.

Use your skills to make an impact

Required Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in Sales Development, BDR, or a similar outbound sales role with a record of converting activity into results.
  • Demonstrated experience with phone engagement and targeted email campaigns.
  • Comfortable engaging senior leaders and C-suite stakeholders.
  • Triage and qualification skills, including rapid assessment and escalation.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools and pipeline management.
  • High-activity work style with positive, professional persistence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare environments (payer and/or provider).
  • Exposure to value-based care arrangements.
  • Experience in startup or fast-growth environments.
  • Existing industry relationships or contacts.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
