Role: Sales Development Representative (SDR)

Location: Remote Latin America.

Timezone: 40 hours/week (10:00 AM – 6:00 PM CST)

Compensation: $4–$7 USD per hour

About the Company

Our client is a lean, US-based digital marketing services agency headquartered in Houston with specialized development offices in India. They provide comprehensive growth solutions for small businesses, including SEO, PPC, social media management, reputation management, and web development.

About the Role

This is an entry-level to junior sales position designed for a motivated communicator who enjoys the "thrill of the hunt." As the first point of contact for potential clients, you will be responsible for taking care of the new outbound sales channel. You won't just be reading a script; you’ll be identifying pain points in a business’s online presence and offering a pathway to a solution.

Key Responsibilities

Outbound Prospecting & Cold Calling

  • Lead Engagement: Conduct high-volume outbound cold calls to small business owners using a provided database and inbound leads from ads/website traffic.

  • Appointment Setting: Qualify prospects through discovery conversations and schedule initial consultations for the US-based sales advisors.

  • Strategic Pitching: Analyze a prospect's digital footprint (e.g., checking for social media presence or website quality) in real-time to provide immediate value during the call.

Sales Integration & Growth

  • Warm Handoffs: Join scheduled appointments to introduce the prospect to the senior sales team, ensuring a seamless transition.

  • Daily Reporting: Maintain accountability by reporting daily activity and progress at the end of each shift without the need for micromanagement.

  • Continuous Learning: Participate in coaching sessions to deepen your understanding of SEO, PPC, and e-commerce to better consult with prospects.

Must-have Qualifications

  • Communication: 1–2 years of experience in sales development, lead generation, or cold calling with a neutral English accent that is easily understood by US-based small business owners.

  • Resilience: A high comfort level with rejection and the persistence to maintain a high energy level throughout a 40-hour work week.

  • Proactive Mindset: Ability to "pick up the clue"—identifying a prospect's problem (e.g., a "dull" website) and suggesting a solution immediately.

  • Technical Literacy: Proficient in using a CRM, using videoconferencing tools, and managing digital communications effectively.

  • Bilingual Bonus: For candidates in Latin/Central America, being bilingual in Spanish and English is a significant plus due to the client’s heavy Hispanic market presence in Texas.

Benefits & Culture

  • Training & Development: The client is willing to invest in training the right person who shows an eagerness to learn the technical side of digital marketing.

  • Time Off: Includes 2 weeks of paid PTO, 5 days of sick leave, and observance of 7–9 US Public Holidays.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
