Role Overview:  Kobalt.io is an equal opportunity employer looking for team members who have a real passion for security. Our company is seeking to hire a Sales Development Representative (SDR) who will be in charge of both sourcing new outbound prospects as well as nurturing inbound prospects. In this role, the Sales Development Representative will utilize email and telecommunications to identify and screen new potential clients for Kobalt.io. SDRs will also work closely with the Marketing and Sales teams to refine and consult on the improvement of the sales funnels. Kobalt.io is a rapidly growing cybersecurity services and technology firm focused on addressing the needs of small and mid-sized businesses. Founded in November 2018, Kobalt.io has been recognized as an emerging company on the Ready to Rocket Emerging ICT list, 2020 Startups to Watch by Techcouver, and has worked with over 700 companies addressing cybersecurity challenges since inception.  Preference will be given to candidates who are willing to work PST/MST hours.  


Qualifications:  To be successful as a sales development representative, candidates will need to be willing to learn and voice their opinions. As the SDR team is Kobalt.io’s first line of direct communication with prospects, ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, should be quick learners, and have a basic understanding of sales processes. Candidates should be competent in using Cloud-based software applications such as Google Workspace, Confluence and Monday.com. Any previous experience with Hubspot or other CRM software is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to use both email and telecommunications to generate new business opportunities.
  • Continuously seek and identify new prospects within Kobalt.io’s ideal customer profile.  
  • A/B test outreach and sales-related activities to identify best practices.
  • Qualify new prospects into sales-qualified prospects.
  • Set up calls and handoff opportunities to the Account Executives.
  • Work closely with the Sales and Marketing teams to refine the sales funnel. 
  • Manage and nurture all inbound leads from various channels. 
  • Identify the needs of the prospect and work with the Account Executives to provide the appropriate services for prospects. 
  • Build long-term relationships with prospects throughout their pre-buying and post-buying journeys. 
  • Work with the Marketing team to identify any new assets that need to be made in order to better the prospect’s experience.


Qualifications:

  • A completed or in-progress bachelor's degree in business or a related field of study, or equivalent work experience.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience using cloud software for a variety of tasks.
  • Competency in productivity suite applications such as Google Workspace or Microsoft Office.
  • Strong willingness to learn and voice your opinions in order to strengthen the business. 
  • Desire and ability to develop your skill set and move up within the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
