Job Type: Full-Time

About FarmRaise
FarmRaise builds tools that power the future of agricultural program management. Our platform helps agricultural organizations—from government agencies to grower networks—streamline enrollment, track data, report impact, and disburse payments to farmers. We're trusted by partners across the federal government, university extensions, cooperatives, food companies, and state/local agencies.

About the Role
We’re looking for a traction-driven Sales Development Representative to join our growing team. As the founding SDR at FarmRaise, you’ll be on the front lines of our sales efforts for our program management solution—researching prospects, initiating conversations, and qualifying leads across four high-impact customer segments:

  • Government agencies administering farmer-facing funding programs

  • Cooperative Extension and university-led ag research programs

  • Food companies managing grower and supplier networks

  • Nonprofit and for-profit organizations running on-farm grant or incentive programs

This is a great opportunity for someone who’s hungry to grow in SaaS sales, loves agriculture, and wants to help organizations better serve farmers.

The expectation for this role is to grow into an Account Executive in under one year.

What You’ll Do

  • Identify and research prospective customers using tools like ZoomInfo and LinkedIn

  • Craft and send thoughtful, high-converting outbound emails and LinkedIn messages

  • Manage outreach sequences and lead activity in Salesloft

  • Qualify leads through discovery calls and email exchanges, booking meetings and demos for sales leadership

  • Collaborate closely with marketing and sales to iterate on messaging, refine ICP targeting, and test outreach strategies

  • Keep CRM (Salesforce) up to date with lead status and notes

Who You Are

  • You have 1-2 years of experience in a quota-carrying, outbound B2B SaaS sales position (Bonus points for Agtech and/or selling into public institutions)

  • You’re a clear communicator who writes tight, persuasive messages

  • You’re organized, self-motivated, and not afraid to cold outreach

  • You’re comfortable picking up the phone and making cold calls to start meaningful conversations

  • You can manage multi-touch, multi-channel outbound sequences across email, LinkedIn, phone, and more

  • You thrive in fast-moving environments and can navigate ambiguity with confidence

  • You’re a self-starter who brings initiative, not just execution

  • You bring proven workflows and outbound tactics from previous roles—and you’re ready to iterate and improve them here

  • You’re curious about customer problems and enjoy digging into the details

Bonus Points For

  • Familiarity with government funding programs, food supply chains, or agricultural extension systems

  • Experience using Salesloft, ZoomInfo, and Salesforce

  • Background in agriculture or Agtech

Why Join Us

  • Expectation to grow into Account Executive role within one year

  • Be part of a purpose-driven startup building tools that support farmers

  • Work with a small, nimble team making a big impact

  • Remote-friendly with flexible hours and a supportive team

Compensation
This role offers a $55,000 base salary plus uncapped commission, with on-target earnings (OTE) of $90,000. We also offer opportunities for professional growth and performance-based advancement. Additional benefits include:

  • Employee stock options

  • Health-care coverage

  • Dental and Vision coverage

  • Unlimited PTO, with a minimum of 10 business days (2 weeks) strongly encouraged, in addition to over 1.5 weeks of preset company closures on various US holidays throughout the year

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
