ABOUT RETELL AI

Retell AI is using first principles to reimagine the call center with cutting-edge voice AI.

Thousands of companies now utilize Retell’s AI voice agents to handle sales, support, and logistics calls that once required large teams of human agents. Backed by Y Combinator, Alt Capital, and other leading investors, we have scaled to $60M ARR with a team of 40 people, up from $5M at the start of 2025.

Our vision for 2026 is to build a modern CX platform where entire contact centers are powered by AI. Instead of basic automation that needs constant human tuning, we’re creating intelligent AI “workers” that can act as frontline agents, QA analysts, and managers, continuously executing, monitoring, and improving customer interactions.

We’re growing quickly and looking for ambitious builders who want to tackle hard technical problems, move fast, and have real impact at one of the fastest-growing voice AI startups.

Let’s build the future together.

  • We’re a top 50 AI app in a16z list: a16z Top AI Apps

You’ll be one of the first touchpoints for companies evaluating Retell and play a critical role in how inbound demand gets qualified, routed, and converted into pipeline. You’ll work closely with the VP of Revenue and account executives to ensure high-quality customer experiences across every inbound interaction.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, communicates exceptionally well, and wants exposure to one of the fastest-growing AI companies in the market.

  • Schedule discovery and demo calls for account executives

  • Maintain clean, accurate CRM hygiene across all prospect interactions and stages

  • Develop strong product knowledge and confidently communicate Retell’s value proposition

  • Partner with revenue leadership to improve inbound qualification processes, messaging, and workflows

  • Track performance against qualified meetings, opportunities created, and pipeline contribution

YOU MIGHT THRIVE IF
  • You’re naturally high-energy and enjoy interacting with people throughout the day

  • You have prior customer-facing experience in hospitality, retail, service, support, or sales environments

  • You communicate clearly, ask thoughtful questions, and actively listen

  • You stay organized under volume and consistently follow through on details

  • You’re comfortable operating in fast-paced environments with evolving processes

  • You learn quickly and are excited to understand technical products deeply

  • You want to grow rapidly in a high-performance startup environment with meaningful ownership

JOB DETAILS
  • Cash Compensation: $6,000 – $8,000/month base (1099)

    • Variable Compensation: Performance-based bonus tied to qualified meetings and opportunities created

  • Location: Fully Remote (US or Canada)

  • Open to recent graduates and early-career candidates who are excited to grow quickly in a high-performance startup environment.

  • Engagement Type: Remote independent contractor role with the potential for expanded long-term opportunities based on business needs and performance

  • Reporting Structure: Directly reports to the VP of Revenue

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
