Why Clipboard Health Exists:

We exist to lift as many people up the socioeconomic ladder as possible. We dramatically improve lives by letting healthcare professionals turn extra time and ambition into career growth and financial opportunity. We achieve this with our app-based marketplace that connects healthcare facilities and healthcare professionals, allowing professionals to book on-demand shifts and facilities to access on-demand talent.

About Clipboard Health:

Clipboard Health is a fast-growing Series C marketplace. We are a leader in our Long Term Care vertical and are expanding into several others (Dental Offices, Schools, etc).
We are a YC Top Company with a global, remote team of 600+ people. We have been profitable since 2022, and fill millions of shifts annually at partner workplaces across the US, where tens of thousands of professionals work with us every year.
We are looking for your help to keep growing so we can serve more professionals and workplaces.

About the Role:

We are extremely excited about the opportunities we’re seeing to help verticals outside of long term care. This role will sit within one of those verticals, and the specific vertical will be decided by the hiring team during the interview process.

The vertical could be anything from a budding healthcare segment to a new industry, like education. No matter what - you’ll be on the ground floor of a growing new business segment and shaping that team’s sales organization. Examples include:

  • Providing substitute teachers and other classroom staff to K-12 schools
  • Providing clinicians to In Home healthcare agencies

For this role, we are looking for someone who loves the idea of spending all day on the phone with potential customers. This role could be the right fit if you have a passion for sales and a desire to drive top-of-funnel growth at a startup within a startup.

You should expect to:
  • Make over 500 dials per week to engage prospects and book demos with the team
  • Track account and decision-maker details in our CRM to enable an efficient sales funnel
  • Deeply understand our evolving value proposition so that you can engage in quality conversation on the phone
An excellent hire will:
  • Book 10+ demos for the team every week through top of funnel outreach
  • Win over workplaces with fast follow-through, strong attention to detail, and palpable customer empathy
  • Communicate insights and blockers from conversations to help inform how to make our pitch better for workplaces

The process:

  1. Submit an application
  2. Take home assignment
    • After this step, you’ll interview with a selected vertical
  3. Interview with Vertical Manager
    • At this point, you’ll either continue or repeat step 3 with one more vertical manager, depending on vertical fit and need.
  4. Interview with Head of Growth
  5. Interview with CEO

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
