About Elly
Elly is redefining what it means to be a recruiting agency.

We’re an AI-powered recruiting partner that helps the world’s fastest-growing companies find and hire top talent faster than ever before. Our platform combines human expertise with AI-driven sourcing, screening, and scheduling — making hiring more efficient, more transparent, and more effective. From early-stage startups to enterprise teams, Elly delivers full-cycle recruiting services - contingent, retained, or embedded - powered by real technology and world-class recruiters. We’re building the next generation of recruiting operations, and we’re looking for people who want to grow with us.

About the Role
Elly is looking for a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to help expand our client base and fuel our next stage of growth. You’ll be the first point of contact for founders, executives, and talent leaders who need help hiring — introducing them to Elly’s AI-powered recruiting model and driving qualified meetings for our Client Partners.

This is a high-energy, in-person role based in our NYC office. You’ll work closely with sales leadership and operations to identify prospects, craft outreach campaigns, and turn curiosity into conversations that convert into partnerships. What You’ll Do
  • Identify and engage potential clients — from early-stage startups to established organizations — who are hiring and could benefit from Elly’s recruiting services.
  • Qualify inbound and outbound leads, understanding their hiring needs, growth plans, and budget.
  • Articulate Elly’s value clearly and confidently — explaining how our blend of human recruiters and AI automation delivers faster, higher-quality results.
  • Book qualified meetings for Client Partners, ensuring smooth handoffs and detailed CRM notes.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Operations to refine outbound messaging and share learnings from the field.
  • Track all outreach and performance metrics in HubSpot (or similar CRM), and consistently hit or exceed activity goals.
  • Represent Elly with professionalism and conviction, building trust from the first interaction.
What You’ll Bring
  • 1–2 years of experience in sales, recruiting, or a client-facing role (agency or startup experience a plus).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills — confident and personable with executives and operators alike.
  • High emotional intelligence; you know how to read people and lead conversations with empathy.
  • Strong organizational skills; comfortable managing a high volume of outreach and multiple pipelines.
  • Curiosity about people, technology, and the future of recruiting.
  • A competitive, team-oriented mindset — eager to learn, improve, and win together.
Bonus Points
  • Experience selling or working within staffing, recruiting, or HR services.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce).
  • Interest in AI, automation, and how technology can transform professional services.
  • You’ve helped build or scale a go-to-market motion in a startup environment.
Our Values
We’re building a modern recruiting agency with a high-performance culture.
  • Own the Outcome: Every conversation you start can turn into a long-term client relationship — take full responsibility for results.
  • Move Fast: Focus on what drives impact. Act decisively. Learn by doing.
  • Stay Curious: Every founder, company, and role is unique — great SDRs listen first, sell second.
  • Win Together: Collaboration and shared success are at the core of how we operate.
  • Raise the Bar: We set high expectations for ourselves and for how recruiting should be done.
Why Join Elly
This isn’t a typical agency. You’ll be part of a new model that blends AI automation with human expertise, giving you a differentiated story to tell and a massive market to go after. You’ll work closely with leadership, learn how world-class recruiting functions operate, and play a critical role in Elly’s expansion.
If you’re ambitious, curious, and excited to sell something that actually makes hiring better — this is your chance to get in early and grow fast.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
