The Satcom Direct Sales & Business Development Manager-Military will focus on developing and executing an aggressive sales strategy to drive revenue growth for Satcom Direct’s Government and Military business unit. As part of the Sales team, you will focus on leveraging market intelligence and current active programs to drive and grow a long-term sales strategy for U.S. Navy, Coast Guard, and Marine applications. The right candidate is a self-starter who knows how to work collaboratively with cross functional teams and customers alike.

How will you make a difference?

  • Develop an annual account strategy to meet or exceed assigned revenue goals for existing and new business accounts
  • Execute account management activities such as pricing development, NDAs, teaming agreements, portfolio, and project management
  • Design customer specific, value-based solutions to ensure that sales objectives for new revenue are attained
  • Create comprehensive tactics and strategies to maintain a high value qualified pipeline
  • Set up regular face-to-face client meetings and presentations
  • Attend relevant trade shows, conferences and professional programs as directed
  • Complete the account plan and track performance of successfully closed leads and opportunities within reporting tools and CRM
  • Shape business opportunities to ensure successful bids then respond to requests for proposals in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work collaboratively with the SD management and customer support teams to continuously improve customer satisfaction and uncover new business opportunities.
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of market positioning, messaging and strategy.
  • Build industry association relationships with strategic partners and other key contacts, as appropriate.
  • Provide pertinent information about key account, territory and industry changes to the leadership team, focusing on industry opportunities.
  • Review competitor plans and effect of products and services; prepare pricing strategies per customer budgets and procurement methods.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience
  • 7-12 years of sales experience in a related field (military, satcom, aviation, etc..)
  • Must be located in or near the Washington D.C. area
  • Must hold U.S. Secret Clearance or above

Required Skills, Talents & Experience

  • Solid understanding of Navy and DHS aviation organizations
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, procedures, and regulations within the government and military markets.
  • Discretion and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Highly motivated & driven to deliver results that meet & exceed goals
  • Outstanding verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Skills, Talents & Experience

  • Military service or background a plus
  • Knowledge of satellite communications

Base Pay:

116,000.00 - 145,000.00 USD Annual

Target Annual Short-Term Incentive:
