General Summary


The Sales Assistant - LA is responsible for supporting the execution of strategies set by their manager by performing general sales activities in order to maximize sales and margins, support and promote the brand and maintain optimal relationships with customers as well as internal partners. This position supports the Wholesale Apparel business.

The responsibilities described below are considered essential functions of the role.  This position is based in our LA Showroom office and requires working on-site.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to Sales Manager with all business functions for assigned accounts.
  • Complete all asset and image templates for assigned accounts.
  • Manage dropship process in its entirety for assigned accounts.
  • Assist with customer needs, such as EDI management, shipping and extensions, reorders, returns and exchanges if needed.
  • Partner with internal customers and colleagues including Production, Operations and Design.
  • Track and update regularly the status of inventories and ATS.
  • Quickly learn full product line and understand fits, fabrics and silhouettes.
  • Complete weekly reporting for major accounts in excel by using pivot tables and vlookups and then use this information to fill out required weekly trackers.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines with support and resources as needed
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $24.00-$26.00. Ranges are based on various factors such as relevant skillset, training, years of experience related to the current job description, education, and our organizational structure. In addition to the base salary, Steve Madden offers a competitive benefits package that includes health and dental insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, 401K, paid holidays, a generous paid time-off policy, and career opportunities within a dynamic team.
