About the Role:

The Safety Coordinator manages a company's health, safety, and environmental programs, policies, and procedures. They will be a key contributor to the well-being of our manufacturing plant.

This role will report to the Environmental, Health & Safety Manager.

This is a full-time, onsite role with company benefits based out of Dr. Squatch Bricc City, in Brea, CA.

The anticipated compensation range for this role will be $25.00 to $28.00. Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and local market rates.

What You'll Do:

  • Safety programs: Implementing safety programs, including emergency response plans and incident management
  • Safety training: Coordinates occupational safety training for employees
  • Safety compliance: Ensures compliance with occupational safety and environmental regulations including: Assists in maintaining EHS equipment and supplies such as personal protective equipment (PPE), signage and posters, emergency response equipment such as first aid kits, eyewash stations and AEDs, fire extinguishers etc.
  • Safety audits: Conducts safety and environmental audits of employees on the floor to identify risk areas and trend analysis
  • Safety investigations: Assists in investigating incidents and near misses to identify root causes and corrective actions
  • Safety equipment: Assists in performing safety equipment inspections and initiating repair processes. 
  • Safety communication: Communicates safety issues with plant personnel 
  • Safety leadership: Coordinates with leadership during emergencies and special projects
  • Safety government inspections: Assists with government EHS inspections as well as onsite building inspections.

About You:

  • High school diploma or GED. Associate degree preferred but not required.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing industry or similar environment implementing and supporting EHS programs.
  • Previous experience with Workplace inspections 
  • Previous experience with Hazard recognition and control
  • Previous experience in Training, coaching and guiding people in EHS topics
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English. Fluency in Spanish is preferred, but not required.
  • Able to communicate and engage effectively with management, EHS leaders, site operations teams, contractors and vendors.
  • Comfortable working with software tools such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Someone who gets things done without perfect resources is innovative and works with a sense of urgency 
  • Someone who has high standards takes ownership and is invested in the outcome
  • Someone who proactively helps others stays positive and has a good sense of humor
