Job Description

  • Drive Qantas’ Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) procurement and partnership strategy across the Americas
  • Lead SAF purchasing and contract management within the Americas region.
  • Build and sustain strategic partnerships, including with the corporate community, to accelerate Qantas’ and the airline industries decarbonization goals
  • Full-time, permanent position based in either Los Angeles or Seattle (other locations across the West Coast will also be considered)
  • $130,000 - $160,000 USD per annum plus bonus

As the SAF Partnerships & Procurement Manager (Americas), you will play a critical role in delivering Qantas’ SAF procurement strategy and advancing our decarbonization objectives across the region. Your  focus will be to secure reliable and competitively priced SAF  by leading the negotiation and management of supply agreements, overseeing contract governance, and optimizing procurement strategies in line with market conditions and regulatory incentives. This includes responsiblity for managing supplier performance and building strong, collaborative relationships with SAF producers, value chain partners, and corporate customers to scale SAF adoption.

In addition, you will drive the identification and evaluation of new SAF opportunities, develop business cases, and foster strategic partnerships to support Qantas’ customers Scope 3 sustainability goals. This will require  closely working  with internal teams - including APAC SAF, corporate sales, loyalty, freight, and government relations - as well as external stakeholders. Your ability to be highly organized, manage complex stakeholder relationships, deliver commercial outcomes, and provide market intelligence will be key to your success in this dynamic and high-impact role.
 

You’ll have –

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the low carbon fuels industry with airlines or fuel producers, or with experience in customer-facing SAF program. Sales experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven capability to craft and negotiate complex renewable fuels procurement contracts and secure favourable terms.
  • Strong program or project management skills, with experience managing multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Deep understanding of SAF markets, supply chain dynamics, and sustainability standards.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior decision-makers.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, think creatively, and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, sustainability, procurement,  or a related field are highly desirable.
