ROLE OVERVIEW

The VP, GTM Data & Product Analytics is an executive leadership role accountable for transforming data into a strategic growth advantage for Sortly.

This role owns the end-to-end analytics strategy across Go-to-Market and Product, defining how the company measures success, allocates investment, mitigates risk, and accelerates ARR growth. You will operate as a senior advisor to the executive team, bringing rigor, foresight, and clarity to the most critical strategic decisions facing the business.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIESEnterprise Analytics Strategy
  • Define and own Sortly’s GTM and Product analytics vision as a core pillar of company strategy.
  • Establish the metrics, models, and performance frameworks that guide ARR growth, retention, expansion, and efficiency.
  • Ensure analytics directly informs prioritization across Product, Revenue, and Customer Experience.
  • Identify new data-driven growth levers through internal insights and external market signals.
Executive Partnership & Influence
  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to the CEO, CRO, and CPO on growth strategy, customer behavior, and market dynamics.
  • Lead high-stakes analytical work to inform pricing and packaging, product investment, market expansion, and GTM motions.
  • Anticipate risk and opportunity through leading indicators—not lagging reports—and recommend decisive action.
From Insight to Action
  • Translate complex analytics into clear executive narratives that drive alignment, confidence, and action.
  • Elevate data literacy at the leadership level, ensuring decisions are grounded in evidence, not intuition alone.
  • Drive advanced analytics capabilities including predictive modeling, scenario planning, and cohort-based analysis.
Scalable Intelligence Infrastructure
  • Lead Data Engineering team ensuring Sortly’s data architecture supports real-time, scalable SaaS analytics.
  • Oversee executive dashboards and self-service tools that keep leaders focused on the highest-impact levers.
  • Establish strong data governance, integrity, and security as non-negotiable foundations.
Leadership & Organization Building
  • Build and lead a high-performing GTM Data and Product Analytics organization.
  • Set a high bar for analytical rigor, strategic thinking, and executive communication.
  • Develop leaders within the function who operate as embedded business partners, not service providers.

Requirements
  • 12+ years in analytics, strategy, and data leadership roles, including 3+ years at the VP level.
  • Proven experience owning enterprise analytics strategy in a high-growth SaaS or technology company.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience building, mentoring, and scaling high-performance analytics and data teams, including developing senior leaders, setting a high bar for talent, and driving sustained execution through periods of growth and change.
  • Deep, hands-on expertise with SaaS performance metrics and unit economics, including but not limited to ARR, Gross Dollar Retention (GDR), Net Dollar Retention (NDR), churn, expansion, CAC, LTV, pipeline conversion, cohort analysis, and forecasting accuracy, and the ability to translate these into GTM and Product decisions.
  • Demonstrated track record of shaping executive decisions and influencing outcomes through insight-led strategy.
  • Mastery of BI platforms (Looker, Tableau, etc.), SQL, and executive-level data storytelling.
  • Experience with modern data stacks (BigQuery, dbt, Fivetran) and advanced analytics methodologies.

BenefitsWHY SORTLY
  • Own a function that directly shapes company strategy, growth, and market position.
  • Operate as a true executive partner within a profitable, scaling SaaS business.
  • Join a culture grounded in Real, Inspiring, Smart, and Empathetic leadership.
  • Annual off-site retreats
  • Home office stipend
  • 401(k) match
  • Annual learning and development reimbursement

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
