The Role
As a Risk Business Partner embedded in our Product organization, you'll own the end-to-end risk agenda for Bitcoin, Lending, and/or Card products. Working closely with Product, Engineering, Design, and Legal & Compliance teams, you'll help ship innovative features safely while ensuring risk considerations are woven into every stage of the product lifecycle. You'll serve as a trusted advisor, implementing risk frameworks and fostering a strong risk culture that balances innovation with sound risk practices.
You Will
  • Lead structured risk assessments for new features and product iterations
  • Design and implement scalable controls integrated into product flows
  • Build and monitor KPIs/KRIs to identify emerging risk trends
  • Partner with Engineering and Data Science on automated monitoring solutions
  • Coach product teams on "risk-by-design" practices
  • Drive executive reporting on risk shifts and emerging indicators
  • Serve as liaison between business and second/third lines of defense
  • Manage regulatory obligations and audit findings
  • Champion risk ownership mindset across business units

You Have
  • 8+ years of fintech risk management experience, preferably in Bitcoin, Lending, or Card Products
  • Strong understanding of financial services regulatory landscape
  • Track record of implementing risk frameworks in agile environments
  • Experience partnering with engineering/product teams on risk controls
  • Proven success in regulatory compliance management
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree required (Finance, Business, Engineering, or related)
  • Professional risk certifications preferred (FRM, CRISC, CISA, or CAMS)
  • Experience presenting to and influencing senior leadership

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

$135,200 - $202,800 USD

$125,800 - $188,600 USD

$119,000 - $178,400 USD
