Job Duties and Responsibilities
RF Engineer II, RAN sought by DISH Wireless, LLC in Plano, TX.
Responsible for end to end RF design, propagation modeling and prediction and support of site deployment efforts. Responsible for the following duties: (i) establish design criteria, system dimensioning, link budget and traffic analysis as needed for network design; (ii) CW (Continuous Wave) Measurements Classification and Preparation - Reviewing CW measurements, CW antenna patterns, checking locations (pictures, Google Earth), confirming geodata for AOI (Area of Interest); (iii) Model Tuning in Planet - matching real drive test measurements with predicted results and optimizing Planet prediction tool; (iv) Project Preparation - review pre-qualified assets list, confirming antenna files, updating traffic maps, confirming in detail geodata for AOI (Area of Interest) that is being designed; (v) use ACP - Automatic Cell Planning - Tool to run multiple design scenarios; (vi) Optimization - Engineer will run multiple scenarios above and suggest the optimal design related to maximizing population and areas covered while minimizing number of assets used; (vii) validation of the results and design review preparation and presentation to EVPs; and (viii) design adjustments and On-Going Site Deployment Support.
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Requires Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electronic or Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related field plus 5 years of post-baccalaureate experience as RF Engineer or related role. Also requires 5 years of work experience with/using the following (which may have been gained concurrently):

Skills, Experience and Requirements

Also requires 5 years of work experience with/using the following (which may have been gained concurrently):
- Equipment co-location requirements for multiple operators and experience performing inter-modulation analysis along with any other external interference analysis
- Cellular/Mobile Technology proficiency in 4G/5G and NR theory and practical experience
- Macro small cell nominal, and final RF designs including development, operations, and RF KPIs.
- RF link budgets for 3GPP technologies, ORAN standards, and antenna theory
- Cellular/Mobile Technology theory.
- Setting up, calibration, utilization and data processing of various LTE/5G NR designs, including optimization equipment and software (XCAL, XCAP, and Windcatcher).
- Drive test equipment, processes, and interpreting results of the collected information.
- Core network functions (DU, CU, RU, EMS, PaaS, IP Networks) and analyzing/identifying and resolving complex issues.
- At least one of the common industry propagation/planning tools (PlanetEV, Atoll, or IBWave) and experience with model calibrations.
