The Revenue Cycle Training Specialist is an individual contributor responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs for new hires and existing revenue cycle staff. This role supports all aspects of Revenue Cycle and Medical Coding, including leadership, soft skills, and administration. The Specialist collaborates with stakeholders to develop training content, facilitate sessions, and manage learning data to drive staff competency and departmental productivity. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Train assigned staff individually and in groups on department processes and core functional subjects.
  • Evaluate training progress and competency of trainees; provide feedback to stakeholders.
  • Bridge transition from new hire training to departmental productivity.
  • Collaborate on content development and create concise written training guidelines for all functional areas.
  • Design and deliver classroom-style interactive training and web-based training videos.
  • Provide training on healthcare administration software.
  • Track learning journeys, attendance, and organize data into reports for analytics.
  • Maintain records in the learning management system.

EDUCATION DESIRED:

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:

 

  • At least 5 years’ experience in Billing, Collections, Accounts Receivable, or Medical Coding.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in facilitation, teaching, coaching, or mentoring.
  • Knowledge of insurance billing, compliance, medical terminology, and managed care contracts.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Must pass an assessment to display knowledge of skills and abilities.
  • Experience with instructional design tool Articulate 360

 

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS PREFERRED:

 

  • Experience in Ancillary/Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) environments.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Experience with UKG Pro Learning.
  • Experience with instructional design tools such as Storyline, Snagit, Camtasia
