Under the direction of the Manager of Enterprise Chargemaster, the Enterprise Chargemaster Analyst maintains an accurate and complaint chargemaster based on NLH member facility and computer system.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Works collaboratively with peers and managers, throughout the NLH members, including but not limited to coding, PFS and charge services IT to assure the integrity of enterprise-wide chargemaster
- Maintain a detailed understanding of the computer systems in use by NLH to ensure accurate charge built to support the billing nuances inherent in each system
- Contributes to process improvement initiatives within the enterprise revenue cycle by recognizing process improvement opportunities, anticipating, and proposing opportunities, engaging stakeholders to assist with conducting root cause analyses
- Contributes to the development and maintenance of policies and education
- Works collaboratively with peers and managers to facilitate an understanding of current charge methodology, regulatory requirements, and current best practices
- Maintains a compliant enterprise chargemaster for accurate and optimal reimbursement in accordance with regulatory guidance and Guiding Principles document
- Maintains a working knowledge of guiding principles, regulatory mandates, and payer requirements and applies understanding in the maintenance of the enterprise chargemaster
- Routinely performs internal audits of the enterprise chargemaster and address variances in a timely manner
- Addresses findings in external audits in a timely manner
- Offers strategic and technical expertise to identify and improve financial opportunities in revenue cycle operations
- Collaborates with Northern Light Health and vendor to maintain strategic pricing
- Works under the direction of CDM Manager and Lead Analysts to prepare files for yearly price changes and regulatory coding changes
- Keeps abreast of current regulatory guidance and attends local and regional conferences/seminars to remain current
- Participates with implementation and testing

Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years in revenue cycle operations
- 2+ years working with hospital chargemaster methodology and maintenance
- 2+ years working with regulatory guidance, governments and commercial payer regulations related to hospital revenue cycle and the ability to interpret them to maintain a compliant chargemaster
- In depth understanding of regulatory guidance, governments and commercial payer regulations related to hospital revenue cycle and the ability to interpret them and apply toward best practices within the enterprise revenue cycle
- In depth understanding of hospital billing practices and reimbursement methodologies including DRG, APC, cost-based and other payment methodologies
- Proficient with Microsoft business applications with excellent excel skill level
- Proven history of analytical and data interpretation skills

- Proven ability to provide back-up support and assists within the department as needed
