The Resource Navigator will provide administrative and programmatic support to the disaster case management program. This role will assist in finding resources for those affected by the Los Angeles wildfires. This role will assist at the resource hub and help direct survivors to appropriate recovery resources. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills, a background in disaster response working directly with trauma-affected communities, and a deep commitment to serving vulnerable populations. 

Responsibilities:

  • Client Support: Assist clients in identifying their resource needs and navigating available community services, resources and support services, empowering them to navigate systems effectively. 
  • Referral Management: Develop and navigate an up-to-date directory of local, state, and federal resources, ensuring clients are referred to appropriate services. 
  • Collaboration: Work closely with case managers and other stakeholders to coordinate services and enhance program effectiveness. 
  • Advocacy: Act as an advocate for clients in need, helping them access resources such as housing, food security, and health services. 
  • Help plan canvassing efforts and create a list of potential locations and events where the team can share resources and provide support to affected communities. 
  • Support the organization and implementation of disaster recovery events, particularly those targeting marginalized groups in need of recovery assistance. 
  • Other duties as assigned 

Scope and Travel:

  • Travel within Los Angeles County 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Social Work, Community Outreach, Public Administration, or related fields, or equivalent professional experience. 

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 years of relevant experience in program coordination, disaster recovery, or community outreach 
  • Familiarity with community resources for disaster-affected populations and local knowledge of Los Angeles 

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working in diverse, trauma-affected communities. 
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. 
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills 
  • Adaptability and flexibility in dynamic environments 
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when needed 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with client management software. 
  • Fluency in Spanish or Armenian is a plus.
