In this role, you will be responsible to review and underwrite residential loan applications of different levels of complexity in a high-volume setting. Complete loan applications while being in compliance and adherence with the credit union and secondary market guidelines. 

Responsibilities
  • Underwrite residential loans such as First Mortgages and Home Equity Loans in compliance with the credit union and secondary market guidelines and render final credit decisions accordingly.
  • Examine loan disclosures and documentation for accuracy and completeness and work with other teams like loan originators, processing staff, third-party vendors and members to secure required documents needed to analyze the creditworthiness of the borrower.
  • Review property title reports and identify and clear unpaid liens and/or judgments and assist with re-negotiations of loans based on counter offers.
  • Review financial statements, credit reports and applicable income documentation to determine debt ratios.
  • Review Automated Valuation Models (AVMs) and Appraisals to determine the acceptability of collateral.
  • Evaluate and examine transactions to ensure accuracy and adherence to credit union guidelines.
  • Work with internal and external members and business partners to gather information to make appropriate decisions and explain the rationale behind credit decisions.
  • Meet departmental goals for productivity, quality and turnaround time.

Education:

  • High School or Equivalent - Minimum
  • Bachelors Degree - Business, Finance or Related - Preferred

Years of Experience:

  • 3 Years - Underwriting, residential/consumer loan or related - Minimum


Compensation & Benefits:

Typical hiring range:‏‏‎ ‎$76,500‏‏‎ ‎-‏‏‎ ‎$108,050 Annually. Actual compensation will be determined using factors such as experience, skills & knowledge.
