The Role 

We are seeking an experienced Research Consultant to lead a focused research initiative centered on understanding parent, kids and coaches  perspectives and experiences with tapouts. This consultant will design and facilitate focus groups with our consumers to gather meaningful qualitative insights and translate them into clear, actionable recommendations.

This is a project-based, short-term consulting role ideal for someone with deep experience in qualitative research, customer insights, and stakeholder-facing facilitation.

This position is remote and can be done from anywhere in the United States

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and facilitate parent focus groups to assess the end-to-end tapouts experience
  • Gather qualitative insights related to:
    • Platform usability and experience
    • Coaching quality and coach-parent communication
    • Session structure and outcomes
  • Synthesize findings into clear themes, insights, and patterns
  • Develop actionable recommendations to improve product, coaching delivery, and overall parent satisfaction
  • Deliver a final insights report and presentation to leadership with prioritized improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across coaching, product, and operations teams
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience leading focus groups and qualitative research initiatives
  • Proven background in customer experience research, or user research
  • Experience with focus groups, surveys, ethnographic responses
  • Experience translating qualitative data into strategic recommendations
  • Ability to work independently and manage a defined research project end to end
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience in education, coaching, mental health, parenting, or child-focused platforms is a strong plus
  • Comfort working with startups or fast-moving environments
