The role may be performed remotely and requires up to 20 hours per week.
The Wanek School of Natural Sciences and the Department of Chemistry at High Point University is currently seeking a Research Assistant for an NIH-funded research project related to the development and study of small molecules to combat antibiotic resistance. This individual will help plan and execute experiments and analyze data as needed to accomplish the aims of the study. The selected candidate may perform this research remotely. This position requires up to 20 hours per week.
Required Qualifications:
Successful candidates should have completed a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field. They should have at least two years of experience working on a research project. Experience with WGCNA is required.
Responsibilities:
- Keep organized and accurate records of all experiments and data, according to guidelines for good lab practices
- Conduct bioinformatic analyses of RNA-seq data
- Analyze scientific literature
- Communicate clearly and regularly with supervisor
