JOB DESCRIPTION

The Fox News Lifestyle team is seeking a Reporter, Lifestyle, to produce a high volume of quality content for the FoxNews.com audience, including stories and video sourced from, but not limited to, social media platforms and online forums. This person would contribute heavily to the Travel & Food topic areas within Lifestyle as well as other topic areas as needed. 

In addition to masterful storytelling and production, the Reporter will be tasked with field assignments as well as remote interviews, including video. The Reporter will be responsible for turning around both short-form and long-form articles.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Report and write about the latest breaking or trending news items of interest to Fox News Lifestyle readers, as well as deeper-dive stories

  • Produce several pieces of content per day (written + video), based on original reporting and research as well as other news sources, including but not limited to social media postings

  • Work efficiently to identify, report, write, edit and submit daily pieces under strict deadlines to team managers

  • Become familiar with partner sites and affiliates to identify and syndicate partner content that would be of interest to the Lifestyle audience

  • Monitor site traffic and analytics to maximize page views, unique users, and media initiatives

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • At least 3-5 years of experience reporting and writing, preferably with Lifestyle verticals

  • Ability to identify trending news or viral trends impacting, or being of interest to, readers of Fox News Lifestyle 

  • Relevant reporting and writing experience for online publications, preferably in a newsroom setting

  • Close familiarity with social media platforms and forums including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, etc.

  • Familiarity with Photoshop or photo-editing software, as well as with Adobe Premiere Pro video editing

  • Thorough knowledge of Associated Press style guide

  • An understanding of SEO and its importance

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently combined with a strong sense team play

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Multimedia interests preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience

  • An "all-in" mentality to help team achieve its goals

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $75,000.00-95,000.00 annually for high cost labour markets such as but not limited to New York City and Los Angeles, $62,500.00-79,100.00 annually for all other US locations. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
