Wieland is hiring a Regional Sales Manager. The Regional Sales Manager will play a key role in executing the commercial strategy, driving growth in existing markets, and identifying new business opportunities. Working closely with the respective National Sales Managers for the CX, CC, TC, and LS (and/or any GXNA entities to be added), Business Development Managers, Purchased Products/Specialty Products Managers, and the Inside Sales teams, this individual will be responsible for strategic management of customer relationships, developing sales strategies, and expanding Wieland GXNA’s presence within the territory. A key focus will be on growing sales volumes, profitability, and expanding GXNA’s customer base and market share.  This position offers the opportunity to travel and engage with customers across the territory.


This role is located in Los Angeles, CA and will be hybrid. While this role is local, travel to other locations will be required (up to 50% travel). 


Base Salary Range: $128,446 – $160,557

May be eligible for a variable compensation plan bonus based upon company performance within fiscal year cycle.

Responsibilities

Role Title Responsibilities:

  • Sales Management: Lead sales activities for mill products across the assigned territory, ensuring customer satisfaction and business growth.
  • Sales Strategy Development: Partner with the management team to develop and implement sales strategies that align with company objectives and market trends.
  • Key Product Line Expansion: Identify and pursue new sales leads for core GXNA products and emerging specialty products including Eco Brass Rod, Eco Brass/Eco Bronze Ingot, Eco Bronze bushing, bearing and forged components, continuous cast mill formats, and centrifugally cast and rough-machined parts.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Regularly visit customers to maintain strong relationships, resolve open issues, and identify new business opportunities.
  • Technical Product Presentations: Develop and deliver technical presentations and training sessions on GXNA products to customers in various market segments.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape, providing actionable insights to shape sales strategies.
  • Market Reports: Prepare necessary customer, market, and market pricing reports on a timely basis, including alloy forecasts.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and terms with customers, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements that align with company Day Sales Outstanding (DSO) goals. Maintain oversight of customer scrap return percentages and current credit.   
  • Receivables Management: Collaborate with the AR and Inside Sales teams to monitor and follow up on accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments.
  • Production Oversight: Monitor the production status of urgent or overdue orders, coordinating with the mill to resolve issues and ensure timely delivery.
  • Claims Management: Support the facilitation of customer claims, gathering required documentation for quality review and resolution.
  • Crisis Management: Proactively address customer concerns or issues, ensuring prompt resolution and maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Event Participation: Represent the company at trade shows and industry events to promote products, network with potential customers, and stay current on market trends.
  • Budget Preparation: Collaborate closely with the commercial team to prepare and manage yearly budgets aligned with sales goals.
  • Travel: Extensive travel for meetings with customers and prospects, industry events, etc., to support company sales initiatives.
  • Other: Other duties as assigned.

Role Title Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Strong technical sales experience is preferred, particularly in industrial or engineered products.
  • Knowledge of copper-based alloys, non-ferrous metals, or related manufacturing processes is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in business development, account management, and sales, preferably within the metals, manufacturing, or industrial markets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage customers and stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Proven ability to negotiate pricing, contracts, commercial agreements, and value-based solutions that align with the Company's business objectives and customer needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and customer relationship management (CRM) systems is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned sales territory, including overnight travel, customer entertainment, trade shows, and industry events.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently while collaborating effectively within a cross-functional team environment.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. passport.
