Job Summary

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for mentoring Branch-based Outside Sales Representatives to enhance product sales and customer service to achieve goals and maximize market penetration and margin potential. This position develops and retains an effective Retail/Trade sales force capable of increasing product sales.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieves revenue, budget and other business objectives for assigned Retail/Trade Reps.
  • Attracts, retains, develops and directs highly qualified Retail/Trade Sales Representatives.
  • Trains Retail/Trade Sales Representatives in regards to presentation skills, product knowledge, internal procedures, buying group programs, builder programs and Emser promotions.
  • Analyzes and develops effective pricing and price strategies.
  • Develops business relationships with key Retail/Trade within assigned region.
  • Defines goals and objectives and communicates objectives on a regular basis. Measures Sales Representatives performance against objectives.
  • Communicates clearly and works closely with Branch Managers and Outside Sales Representatives to accomplish mutual goals within established budgets.
  • Communicates and work closely with Emsers Hard Surface Management to maximize market penetration and margin potential.
  • Communicates and coordinates activities with Marketing and Product Planning associates.
  • Works closely with HCS SBU associates on HCS sales and operations and works closely with Tile and Stone Galleries and Sample Express operations in assigned Region.
  • Identifies the top dealers doing majority of the tile business in their market and ensures Emser has strong business relationships.
  • Develops Product Line-Specific Sales Programs, communicates and monitors results.
  • Performs other assigned duties as required to support Corporate and Regional Objectives.
  • Develop specific strategic sales strategies for key accounts to maximize sales opportunities and account potential through market intelligence, account relationships and company vision.
  • Effectively partner and communicate with National account managers, directors, and regional business partners.

Qualifications (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience)

Education and Knowledge:

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Extensive working knowledge of Retail/Trade sales.

Experience/Competencies:

  • Five plus years of related sales management experience.
  • Thrive in a competitive and dynamic sales environment
  • Highly organized and have a successful history of servicing multiple accounts while consistently achieving and exceeding sales goals
  • Able to work independently while simultaneously implementing company defined sales strategies
  • Expert in influential / collaborative sales and negotiation techniques, including analytical skills that can identify and exploit key opportunities
  • Enjoy prospecting for new accounts, setting up / maintaining displays and introducing our quality products to the marketplace
  • Driven to meet sales goals and enjoy the upside of variable compensation programs that also reward employees for exceeding plan
  • Instinctively address all customer questions and concerns promptly with business savvy solution / resolution strategies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to travel 50% a year

 

Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.
