Position Purpose:

The DC Regional Production Planning Manager (RPM) provides end to end planning, guidance, and communication to the DC and Regional Leadership teams in order to ensure key performance indicators are met, production/staffing plans are created, and building flow is balanced. The RPM will work remotely to influence leaders and maintain operational systems and inputs and is responsible with ensuring the successful planning, coordination, and execution of the long and short-term production and labor plans. The RPM will be responsible for multiple 600K plus square foot Distribution Centers individually flowing over $700 million dollars in inventory. Successful management and execution of the RPM plan will be crucial to keep provide exceptional customer service to The Home Depot Stores and ensure in stock remains high.


Key Responsibilities:
  • 30% Effectively partners with DC and Regional leaders to ensure understanding, buy in, and execution of production plan. Collaborates with each DC daily via phone and email to confirm commitments, understand limitations, and identify plan variances or opportunities.
  • 30% Establishes each DC's production plan through maintenance of configurations and inputs within IBOT and Glide Path Tools. Identifies areas of opportunity to adjust plan to drive effectiveness gains through ongoing evaluation of operation's performance.
  • 20% Educates and trains the leadership team on the planning process, tools, and resources available and provides coaching in deficient areas.
  • 10% Identifies process, IBOT, and other system improvements and partners with Labor and Analytics teams to develop and test enhancements.
  • 10% Partners with Human Resources and leadership team to identifies opportunities with scheduled time off, cross training needs, and full time, part time, and seasonal staffing needs.

Travel Requirements:
  • Typically requires overnight travel more than 50% of the time.

Physical Requirements:
  • Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.

Working Conditions:
  • Typically in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes which cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
