Amentum is seeking an experienced Regional Operations Manager to manage multiple sites (Baltimore, MD, Brunswick, GA, Long Beach, CA, Ladson, SC, Vance, AL).  Prefer candidates locating in one of these locations. Also consider remote work in other locations for qualified candidates.

Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm; hours may vary based on business demand.  Weekend hours may be scheduled to support our 24/7 operation.

This position is responsible for the overall Integrated Facility Management program across the client’s portfolio which includes five (5) facilities across nine (5) states. This includes preserving the safety and well-being of our employees, safeguarding company funds and property, and generally representing the company with respect to the client.

The scope of work includes but is not limited to technical maintenance (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and general maintenance of the facility), janitorial, landscaping and grounds, water treatment, fire and life safety equipment, pest control, and subcontractor management, specialty equipment maintenance, move/add/change activities and workplace experience.

The scope also includes project work and project management activities. Work requires knowledge of cost estimating, planning and scheduling techniques. This position ensures that established company goals are realized while maintaining client relations that will enhance future business.

Responsibilities:

Safety & Compliance

  • Provides leadership ensuring accident-free workplace. Walks the Talk.
  • Ensures safety of employees and tenants of facilities
  • Is knowledgeable of portfolio safe work requirements and ensures work is performed in accordance with safety procedures.
  • Provides leadership to ensure Amentum and client EH&S programs are 100% compliant.

People & Communication

  • Creates inclusive, high-performance work environment.
  • Manages human capital to ensure work activities exceed customers’ expectations.
  • Uses technology tools to improve technician knowledge and certification.
  • Maintains consistent communication with management on key issues, potential client issues, and approach to resolutions.
  • Effectively communicates project’s vision.
  • Maintains daily communication with client ensuring “no surprises.”
  • Maintains sense of urgency about customer response and addressing issues
  • Initiates and communicates a variety of personnel actions (e.g., employment, termination, performance, and salary reviews, disciplinary actions, scheduling and/or approving overtime)
  • Performs annual employee assessment and performance review.

Operational Excellence

  • Manages all aspects of contract with client.
  • Understands critical nature of client’s work environment.
  • Ensures 24 x 7 operational availability of critical facility systems (HVAC, steam plant, electrical, compressed air, chilled and process cooling water systems)
  • Ensure 24 x 7 operational availability of emergency life support systems and critical data center systems.
  • Oversee implementation of planned, preventative, and predictive maintenance programs
  • Ensures workload is effectively prioritized, assigned, tracked, and executed. Ensures workflows are defined, implemented, and effective.
  • Ensures predictive technologies are effectively used and results are used to drive Reliability Center Maintenance
  • Drives project continuous improvement, set goals and objectives, and meets schedule commitments.
  • Oversees effectiveness of following soft services: Landscaping and Grounds
  • Maintenance Janitorial Services Manages multiple subcontractors supporting the operations and maintenance functions. Delegates effectively

Cost

  • Controls costs by planning work, effectively using resources, and executing budget.
  • Identifies and implements cost savings initiatives in all areas of the project.

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, Facility Management, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.  Five (5) years of experience in industrial Facilities Management related work may be considered in lieu of the bachelor's degree requirement.
    • In addition to education, 3+ years of facility operations/maintenance experience including facility operations/maintenance supervisory experience in a technical field.
    • Experience in building automation and controls and HVAC/R maintenance in an industrial or commercial environment or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Strong communication skills and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Working knowledge of purchasing and/or utilizing and managing subcontracts or vendors.
    • Experience utilizing CMMS and Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
    • Staff management experience including disciplinary action, hiring, terminating, and performance appraisals.
    • Valid Driver's license.
    • Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Certification or formal training from Facility Maintenance Organizations such as IFMA, AFE or BOMA.
    • Experience working in a GMP or similar regulated environment.
    • Consistent demonstration of the ability to proactively identify potential problems or opportunities, analyze issues using all appropriate resources, develop alternatives, and arrive at the optimum approach to mitigate problems or leverage opportunities.
    • Predictive maintenance experience, including areas such as IR scanning, ultrasonic, vibration and oil analysis, testing, life cycle studies, incident reports, root cause analysis and/or additional data gathering programs.
    • Vibration Analysis Training and Certification.
    • Experience managing a budget.
    • Experience in contract negotiation.
    • Experience in new business start-ups.
