Your Role and Responsibilities Job Summary:

The Regional Key Account Manager is responsible for the leadership of the key account services and direct billing at Brenntag Southwest/Pacific. The role has a heavy focus on metrics, data dissemination, and ensuring effective communications between customers and the Key Accounts Group. The role requires interaction with external and internal stakeholders, cultivation of customer relationships, and effective organization and distribution of Key Account bids throughout the company. The Business Development Manager works closely with Other ROCS and Brenntag North America Key Accounts to ensure that information is received and updated in a timely manner.

Job Description:

  • Acts as the primary liaison between BSW/Pacific and North America Key Accounts.
  • Manager Key Account Administrator and ensure that timely entry of bids are entered into the system and direct billings are processed for customers.
  • Maintain supply of binder / table of contents materials for customized presentations
  • Work with other Key Account Managers and Assistants around the organization in gathering information (sales figures, reports, pricing, etc.); develop close communication skills and ties with the company wide Key Accounts Group.
  • Monitor quarterly Key Accounts roster activities, use quarterly Master list to edit information to make the necessary changes in the AS-400 system
  • Update contact information on Key Account Executives
  • Update contact information on Key Account Specialists
  • Gain strong knowledge in working within the AS-400 system to pull sales and other information
  • Sales data
  • Pricing data
  • Identification of customer logistical needs
  • Work with team Calendar, E-Mail, and database management
  • Keep an active Calendar for regularly scheduled reports, and bid E-Mail monitoring and management ensuring efficient and effective communication
  • Updating of group mail lists for each Major Account
  • Generate reports as need by North America Key Accounts Group.
  • Follow-up to ensure timely response to meet deadlines for submission of all bids.
  • Prepare final version of bid spreadsheet/proposal for review by Key Accounts team and then help with submission to customer.
  • Disseminate post bid results to appropriate field personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager.

Direct Reports:

  • Key Account Specialist
  • Responsible for systematically review the work for accuracy
  • Will conduct performance Review
  • Will ensure all safety and state compliance training is satisfied per direct report.

Position Qualifications:

  • Leadership and Management Skills- Ability to effectively manage and motivate a team. Must be comfortable with providing guidance and direction to staff. The ability to cultivate a strong employee relationship and the ability to evaluate and manage the performance of direct reports with maturity and integrity.
  • Customer service skills – Proven extensive experience working successfully in customer service roles. Consistently ensures the customer is provided with attentive, courteous and informative service. Gains and shows personal satisfaction from delivering great service.
  • Ability to multi-task – Manages multiple tasks at one time; quickly and accurately shifts attention among multiple tasks under distracting conditions without loss of accuracy or appearance of frustration.
  • Communication skills – Ability to communicate (verbal/written) effectively with customers, vendors, management, and other coworkers is crucial. Reads, writes and speaks fluent English, using appropriate grammar, style and vocabulary. Correctly spells commonly used English words and job specific terms. Demonstrates exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organizational ability – Demonstrates a systematic approach in carrying out assignments. Is very orderly and excels at cutting through confusion and turning chaos into order.
  • Problem solving skills – Demonstrates a strong ability to identify, analyze and solve problems. Decisive in handling difficult problems. Translates problems into practical solutions and is capable of understanding relationships and dependencies within different metrics and behaviors.
  • Intellectual ability – Accurately and consistently follows instructions delivered in an oral, written or diagram format. Ability to learn on the fly.
  • Mathematical ability – Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and to compute rate, ratio and percent; ability to convert units of measurement and conduct simple business analytics.
  • Computer skills – Comfortably and confidently uses a computer and specialized software including but not limited to AS400 or similar ERP system, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Capable of quickly researching, extracting data and presenting insightful and actionable information to leadership.

Your Profile 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Industrial Distribution, Supply Chain, or similarly related field or commensurate experience of education and previous
  • 2+ years in a Supervisory position within an office environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of AS400 or a similar ERP system through work experience or internships preferred.
